Maybe! Depends on what they offer for subscription members besides ad-free. I love Hulu.

@Caroline... you know you can hook up your laptop to your TV with a relatively cheap cable (at least, if your TV is newer).

yeah i do that already, but sometimes i like being on my computer while watching tv haha.. i have to have my cake and eat it too :)

We don't have actual cable. We get broadband internet through the local cable company, so we're required to get the local channels. We instead stream Hulu and Netflix through our X-box. I guess it would only be fair to pay for Hulu. But I'd like it if they expanded their library a bit...

At this point I don't have cable and use mostly Hulu or network tv sites to watch TV. Depending on what is being offered, I would consider a paid sub to Hulu.

I might consider it if it would stream through something like my Blue-Ray player, as I too use the computer while watching TV (I'm doing it right now).
It would also have to carry every show that I watch.

A lack of ads just wouldn't be enough for me. I really don't even mind the 15-second ads, since they're a HUGE improvement over the 5 minutes worth of ads that play on cable. (Yeah, no DVR here, obviously.)

We already pay for Netflix, so an expansion in movies wouldn't be enough either.

We've just gone cable-free, and I don't know if it'll become a permanent thing. I miss the spontaneity that came with cable. Plus, I have to remind people I know to not give away spoilers about shows, since I have to watch everything a day later.
And yes, not every show I watch is available online. I miss The Soup

if i could stream it through my tivo i could consider it. but they also have to add all the show i watch. there are plenty of shows i want to see and can't get on hulu.

It would depend on the amount of content I could get with a subscription.

Well sometimes I don't mind watching things on my computer, but sometimes I want them on the big screen! and I know I can hook up my computer to the screen, but 90% of the time I am on my computer when the TV is on. With that said--I DESPISE the only cable company available where I am am--DESPISE...ugh! So I would consider it. I refuse to even use their internet service, so I go through AT&T, and wish their U-verse was available here, but its not, so I would definitely consider this.

nah - i can use my HDMI cable to plug into the TV but the problem is i use the computer a lot when we watch TV. it isn't a problem when i knit - but when i need to do work, play games, etc - it'd be a pain

I use Hulu rarely. I mostly download shows from BBC America using iTunes. I also watch You Tube quite a bit. I have digital cable and there are channels like Sundance, IFC, BBC America, and Starz that I watch constantly and would hate to give up. My cable provider is excellent.

I am a major film geek and I often watch DVD's on my laptop. I live with my elderly mother and she hates my taste in films and televison shows. I have a multi-region DVD player and my collection consists mainly of Region 1 North America)and Region 2(UK/PAL) DVD's.

I rarely use Hulu. I usually download my favorite shows from iTunes to my laptop. My cable provider has an excellent selection of channels and I wouldn't discontinue my service.

Hell no. Isn't that the point of Netflix? They're subscription based. I'd either sign up for Netflix or download torrents. I think its unfair since they're already selling ads on hulu to pay for the shows to be featured on there. Forget that. If hulu becomes subscription based then how's it different from cable/satellite tv? No way. I would never pay for a hulu pay service.
