It's just been announced that China will open an experimental summer camp to treat forty children between the ages of 14 and 22 who suffer from internet addiction. The camp's primarily goal will be addressing "personality problems" that have led to their addiction like fear, depression, unwillingness to interact with others, panic, and agitation. Considering about 13 percent of China's 20 million internet users under 18 are classified as being "addicts," this camp's opening couldn't come at a better time. The government has been trying to combat this national problem by banning new Internet cafes and enforcing gaming restrictions. If these things pop up in America I might be in trouble.

That sounds like bullsh*t to me. Does internet addiction exist? Probably. But 13%? I'm skeptical.
haha the face on the guy on the left just kills me.
this sounds like as much crap as being addicted to sex!
im addicted to sex lol
I'm sure my roomate would sign the papers to send me away to one of these camps. I'm not addicted...just bored!
Oh, gosh. I have glasses that look like the guy's on the right. I hope I don't look like him when I'm at my computer... not that I'm Asian or a guy. haha.
at least at that age you'd be able to admit yourself to this thing - who wants to admit they have an addiction though? not me...
How can these kids get addicted? Don't their parents take any responsibility at all? I mean really - don't buy them a game system in the first place - monitor their computer use - don't allow them to use them for games....
Wow. This is... a sign of the times.
Have you guys not heard about the people who die playing World of Warcraft because they don't stop for days straight. This is a serious concern.

Wow, this does seem a bit extravagant.
i read about the chinese putting kids into institutes where they use electric shock "therapy" to help kids get over their internet "addiction". it's sooo crazy...
