After a long-winded YouTube run, Jessica Lee Rose, who plays the main character Bree in the popular Lonelygirl15 videos, has decided to move on to bigger and better things. The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that after more than a year and 260 episodes, 16-year old Bree was killed off by the religious cult that had chased her for the life-giving qualities of her rare blood type. This video marked the end of season one which was played out in 12 videos posted over a 12-hour period exclusively on MySpaceTV and the LonelyGirl15 website. Although Bree will no longer be a part of the show, the next season will be starting next week with the same title and remaining characters. You can check out the new episodes by visiting her myspace channel.
And as for the famous Ms. Rose? She is developing a new web comedy that should be out by the end of this year and is pursuing more Hollywood acting gigs with co-stars like Lindsay Lohan. Wanna see the last few minutes of Bree's YouTube life? Just read more

I have not seen a single one of her videos, nor do I ever intend to.
1Ugh... I hated this show. Give me the emo kids again! Now that was fake drama
2I have no clue who this is or why it's important. :\
3she was also in monday night's episode of greek on abc family, i think she may be a recurring character
4I am a fan of this show but the new characters and their lack of understanding on how to deal with someone who has lost someone annoys me to no end
5leaving me wanting to never go back
she started it, now she leaves and the character who started it all leaves. damn it.
6Soooo sad!!!
7she's on the show Greek.
8I LOVE THAT SHOW.
I never liked her show. It was extremely annoying. I couldn't watch an episode completely through!
9i never really liked the show much, though
10i liked the cinematography which was very
interesting. the idea of the whole thing
is also intriguing, so im a little sad its
over, in a way, i guess i kinda felt like
i knew her. corny as that sounds.
i have no idea what this is.
11Bree's death hearlds a new chapter in the media experiment called Lonelygirl15. The fist phase was the presentation of a faux personal experience as something real via viral media, which helped drive YouTube's initial traffic and consumer awareness of the medium. Now that it's "out" that Bree was a character in a program, and that she is no longer in the series, the next phase is just as intriguing: can Lonelygirl15 extend itself...not just with new characters, but past the online/offline media domains entirely, and into a new realm: REAL LIFE. The series is poised to become a compelling alternate reality game ("ARG"), and perhaps do for awareness of/involvement in that medium what it did for viral. This could have significant implications for marketers, as well as other creative types. I've written more about this on DIM BULB, at http://dimbulb.typepad.com, if you'd like to check it out.
