Here's a website that can help take away the stress when it comes to dividing bills with roomies (cuz we all know how much fun that is)! Billshare provides a simple application for people who share bills and want to accurately split them up. Featured on lifehacker, this site helps you create your own receipts, divide shared expenses and send out email alerts so that your beloved housemates get "gentle reminders" that their payment for the cable bill is due. There is also a group wall that allows each member to send messages back and forth to one another. Best of all it's free!

I know that this long list looks scary, but trust me, once you get the hang of it, it'll be a snap the second time around.
- First of all, join the Website of the Day group
- Click "Create and Share!" on the left hand side
- Choose "Blog"
- Give your photo a Title
- Leave the category as "general"
- Change the channel to "technology and gadgets"
- Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Website of the Day")
- Click on the "Add Image" link below the "body" box
- A popup window will happen - click on "Browse" to find your image on your computer
- Once you have the image chosen, click "Submit"
- The popup will show you your image, choose size: "normal" - if you want, you can give it a title (which will show up as a caption)
- Click "Insert" and the popup will go away
- Your "body" box will now have some text in it. Leave it as is. If you want to add some text before the picture telling me why you love the website, do it before the code that has appeared.
- Click Submit
So join the Website of the Day group and share information about all of your favorite sites! Yours just might end up on the geeksugar homepage!

I hope this site was developed sooner. It was really frustrating at times when I was still a roommie sharing an apartment w/ 10 other people --when it comes to calculating our bills. The hardest part was calculating the telephone bills and 2 of my roommates had a fight just because of this.
1this is cool. i'm lucky that my roommate and I share everything - like i buy groceries one month than he does and i pay for internet and he gets the phone and power or something. it all mostly works out. we both use everything and share all the stuff we have so yeah - works out really well.
2Wow, this is a great idea! I'm the bill payer for my flat of four, and they're all pretty good about the money, but I always find it hard to chase people up. This would be a perfect way of nagging-without-nagging!
3I'll have to mention this to the roomie that pays the bills. He's constantly having to remind one room mate!
4I think I am signing up for an account. SO many times I have paid for the shopping or my boyfriend has paid for the shopping and we haven't taken it into account.
Not to mention the amount of unpaid bills lying around..
