Sure, the iPhone may be the most talked about gadget of the summer, but that doesn't mean everyone has forgotten about last winter's buzz-maker. The folks over at Crave noticed this Wii Crane Game on the Point Pleasant Boardwalk at the Jersey Shore. The game costs $2 per try for a Wii (there are Xbox 360 and PS3 cranes too), but the Crave folks didn't see anyone winning any consoles. Do you think crane games that taunt you with the promise of a Wii or other gaming systems are geek chic or do they seem like a tacky (and totally geeky) way of stealing people's money?

Oh jeez...those stupid crane machines never work. You think you've got something and the claws just slip right back off of the stuffed animal, so why would they stick to a Wii? Lame.
I doubt those claws could hold onto something as heavy as a wii (unless they're just empty boxes you cash in somewhere else for the prize). Either way, those things are so freaking rigged.
i vote for both, because while the prospect of winning really engages me, the fact that i know that it's probably not possible just lets me down..tear. haha!!
I would not put a dime in that machine. Getting people to play the darn thing about a 100 times is how they earn their money. You might as well buy it. Total waste of money and time!
That's ridiculous.
if you have a chance of acutally winning i would try atleast once, i mean 2 dollars isnt that bad.
I know at least two people (guys) who excel at this game and can win something at every turn. I don't know what the wii setup is but I have never seen them loose an ugly puppy.
I used to totally rock those crane games. I'd love to try my hand at this one.
i bet if you got enough people you could knock a wii down and just grab it, just like the regular crane games. or you could just get one of those kids who somehow get trapped in the games.
oh that's fun. I totally suck at the crane. I'd try it at least 5 times after watching a few people have a go. I mean $10 is totally worth the fun and possibility. I wonder if there's a class on how to beat the crane...I'd take it. oh the possibilities for upgrading my electronics on the Jersey shore!
Geek. It's kinda cool, and I admit I'd try it, but those games are near impossible to win and I can't see many people getting a Wii out of it. They make the claws very loose so they don't have much of a grip to them.
haha- remember that story of the kid that climbed into one of those machines?! That would so totally be me in this case
i keep coming back to this and trying to convince myself that if i go to jersey, i can totally win this...just cough up the $300 kid, it's just not meant to be....ohhh rational thinking, why do you hate me so?!?!
I would try it! It's $2.00 not much to lose!
I would try it! You never know you just might win with $2.
I cant imagine recieving one of those wii's. When ever i played the crane games the stuff would always fall out of the claw and drop at the last second. If this is anything like that, it would be one completely destroyed gaming console
very cute. i think it's a great idea. even if it doesn't work, the prospect of getting one of those is great!
i like this - sure you could possibly not win after many tries, but if you did: oh man! 2$ for a way cooler prize than a stuffed bear.
I highly doubt anyone will actually win one of those, lol. I would never waste my time on a game like that.
the ad with the blonde bouncing around did it for me.
I no longer wanted one heh
But does make me wonder whom would play it and who won from it
Yeah, I think the box would be too heavy for the crane.
