Usually the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is stumble over to my computer to look at my emails and check the text messages on my cell phone. Now imagine if while I was getting ready I could read text messages on my mirror?
Designer Robert Stadler from Radi Designers has made this possible with his limited edition +336+SMS Mirror, which is able to receive SMS messages sent from another cell phone. Showcased on technabob, the message mirror has LED's behind the surface of the mirror which display the messages in a continuous sequence from left to right when you get closer to the mirror.
Only twenty have been made and cost $10,000 each. Hopefully one of those inventions that will get cheaper with time!

thats like aweosme and like futuristic yeah! lol.
dat's a really neat idea, probably not really needed but. good for people like me who have barely enough time to get ready let alone check messages. It would be good if the mirror also displayed weather, voicemails, emails and other little daily need things like reminders and stocks
Or, here's a thought. Why not just put a computer in your bathtub so you could be up to date while getting squeaky clean? Sorry, but I think the mirror's overload. Who needs to stay connected while brushing their teeth??? (and especially at 10,000 dollars!)
Bizarre. Who is so busy that they don't have time to check their text messages? Mainly Obsessed has a point; people need to learn how to relax.
That's way too much money. My only thought on why I would like this is as I get so annoyed if I'm trying to get ready and head out in the morning and my phone is getting text messages. I hate having to stop what I'm doing so I can see a text message that tells me there is a cop at the corner running radar. Sweet of him to warn me, just trying to hurry out the door though.
mirror, mirror, on the wall. i want it! you could text message yourself daily affirmations!
This is completely ridiculous. There is no need to check your SMS messages while looking at the mirror.
Not for 10,000$!
It's unique, but silly. I can see myself having a number of make-up mishaps with this. How long could it possibly take to get ready that text messages can't wait?
although the steph's idea of daily affirmations.
love it great idea.. leave it for a dif. price.. we're not all bill gates..
Love it cuz it's multi-tasking at it's best. I can get ready and still be productive by reading messages in the mirror. It's awesome.
hahaha wow thats TOO much
It's a bit too much.
Is that a blemish on my otherwise beautiful face? No, it's a comma! Oh, who am I kidding, nobody uses commas anymore.
That's just...crazy.
Heh. Daily affirmations on your mirror. That's a good one.
it's okay .. but the purpose of a mirror is to see yourself! not a text
the price doesn't mean anything yet, it's a concept piece. i have a widget on my iMac that is a mirror, so i kind of already have one of these!
Methinks those that would buy this already spend way too much time looking in the mirror. Honestly... just hook up your brain to the 'net.
its overpriced and what if it breaks?!
not only will you waste 10,000 dollars, you'll also get 7 years of bad luck!
i can soooooooooooo not multi=task, this is not for me...i'd end up using my mascara as a lip gloss or something.
It's a great idea and innovation however there are times I want to ignore my messages and I don't want unwanted messages to appear on my mirror .
I don't need to be that plugged in.
I'm sure everybody will have one of these in 20 years...!
mirror is for me and my body, not for messages. that's to geek.
unfortunately I agree with clarient, but HATE the thought of it!
Wake up every morning to be bombarded at the bathroom mirror... ekkk!
Something useful for the forgetful narcissist.
Interesting idea, but everyone in your house could read the text messages. It's also a static object, I think I'd leave the text messages to something more mobile...like the phone!!!
tofutoast: Haha, touché.
How inventive! I would use it to send text messages to myself about things I need to remember to do that day.
I really don't get that many text messages.
wow, this is really cool! i love it!
it's not about being unable to live without your texts for two seconds. it's about seeing words scroll across your mirror.
That's a pretty cool idea, but it just seems rather pointless..
