Uber Apple geek Pete Mortensen spotted these Shockingly Well Executed Counterfeit iPod Shuffles in San Francisco’s Chinatown and I had to agree with him: They're pretty close to the real thing. They are actually MANNDigital Mp3 players that have the very same look, size and even packaging of Apple’s teeny tiny iPod shuffles. While there are some differences - the volume and skip track buttons have switched places and it comes in black, which the real shuffle doesn't - the casual fan wouldn't know the difference. No word on the price, or if it's cheaper than the real shuffle (although I suspect it is). Would you buy a fake iPod shuffle?

I'd consider buying it as a gift dependng on quality (I've been wanting to get my mother an MP3 player) but it's still too little storage for me.
1no way! I
2I like Apple's Customer Support and products in general. Definitely willing to pay the full price on high end electronics for quality.
Though I can see how the casual consumer (people who don't spend most of their disposable income on electronics) would be willing to buy knock offs.
3No
4Just to make Steve Jobs mad and testy. moohahhaha. Not that I don't own an Ipod already. DOH!
5Absolutely not. I never buy electronics from unheard of brands...especially ones that counterfeit established products. What if it breaks? I doubt it has a warranty or any sort of customer support.
6Absolutely not! That's like buying a fake coach purse...you just don't do it...
7No, I am a big fan of apple and I like name brands. Plus the ipod shuffle is like $80 which is not bad at all.
8No. If anything happened to it, there would be no support and they wouldn't fix it. Besides that, I usually only buy brand names that I've had good experiences with.
9Definitely not!
10hahahahhaha

11R u kidding Geek
Would you buy that
No? There you have your answer
The Shuffle is pretty inexpensive to begin with - why buy a fake?
12No way.
13they make fakes of everything these days!! I wouldn't buy a fake shuffle personally. They won't have warranty or anything, you don't know what's inside etc. could blow up for all i know! But i guess they're economic for those who can't afford the real thing.
14I bought a knockoff Nano... Considering it was only about $30, I don't care if it breaks and I'm not worried about losing it. Plus, it uses regular headphones, so I can interchange them without buying the ones with the different jack. Basically, it's cute and it plays music, video and even FM radio, plus stores pictures... why wouldn't I get it?
15no way
16Dag! The real things works like a CHARM (jogging, biking, rain, sweat, it can handle it all!) and it's only $79!
17The apple iPod is way overrated. It costs next to nothing to actually make the damn thing, why would I pay over $100 for some super simple technology?
I don't care about the name brand when it comes to miniscule electronic accessories like an mp3 player. So long as it plays my music and maybe does one or two other neat things without setting my computer on fire when I plug it in, I'll buy it and use it willingly because it's CHEAPER and works JUST THE SAME.
An mp3 player is way different than a coach bag, by the way. I would never buy knockoff fashions, but technology [which becomes completely useless in about a week] should be purchased cheap. I mean, at least you can wear old threads as vintage fashions since styles always come full circle, but who's been rocking a cassette tape player lately?
catch my drift?
I'd totally buy it, it's probably DIRT cheap and works just the same.

18I would not buy it because it would probably just break in a matter of months or not even work on the computer. Plus the ipod shuffle is not that expensive. I would rather save up my money up to buy the shuffle.
19nah, i like the real things better. plus .. it's not like the shuffles are all that expensive. they are probably in weaker conditions too.
20No way
21i've bought other stuff in the past for music, even cheaper headphones and really notice a difference in quality with the apple products. they're much more than a "name" i mean, really - its not like its sony which is such a rip-off.
22I wouldn't buy an iPod, period.
23nope
24Waste of money
25Heck ya, and while I listened to it, I'd do a fake Erkel Shuffle.

26Buh. Cheap prices = cheap electronics. You get what you pay for...
27never. i love original ipod and i would never betrayed him
28it's already cheap! why would you want a fake one?
29for myself?? no! for my 7 year old cousin who is looking for an mp3 player with fun colors that i'm sure will lose it after a short time, maybe...i mean $75 isn't a lot of money, but for a child who will inevitably get sick of it and possibly lose it or want something cooler (the next generation of ipods perhaps) by the time they will really begin to enjoy it and have something other than hannah montana on it, i might give it the green light.
30so i'm living in china, and fakes are everywhere... it ends up becoming a part of your life... but as an apple purist i wouldn't touch them, but my parents have gotten fake ipods and they suck, they have like half a gig on them and they don't work so well. they got a fake shuffle, it came with 3 songs on it already, it looks real but you can't delete the songs or add any... so the fake suffles aren't so fun... I would never buy a fake in the states but here in china for purses its the only way you can get anything decent that doesn't have hello kitty on it or cost way too much... along with socks and other misc. items...
31No way. The shuffle isn't very expensive to begin with, and even if it's a bit more than the knockoff, I have the piece of mind that my shuffle is Apple quality.
32I bought the nano one on Ebay, it's only $36 which including shipping cost. it said 4GB but actually only 2GB, i complained to them about the problem, and the seller actually willing to offer me a refund or giving me $5 back, so i thought it's only 36 so i'm just gonna keep it and get the $5 back. it's not like it's $100 or something so i really don't care. $30 for 2GB isn't so bad actually.
33No way. I couldn't do that to Apple, lol.
34I love my shuffles (2!) and they aren't that expensive in the first place, for the quality and ease of use.
35i have one that i got for 20USD in China. it works perfectly.
36i already have an ipod but for a tiny little thing to carry music on the go, or to give as gift...HECK YES!
i would never buy a fake ipod but a tiny little shuffle, who cares? if you want genuine, dig into you pocket and buy an iphone or ipod.
37noo way
38Nah. And the shuffle sucks anyway, it barely holds any songs.
39Nah. Why bother when they are only $79 to begin with?
40nah...I will pass.
41I bought a MANNDIGITAL 2GB SHUFFLE. Not only does apple not offer 2GB for the shuffle, they also don't Offer my favorite color Black. I purchased a 2Gb Manndigital black shuffled for $75 three months ago, and I must say I am really impressed and happy with the quality. Even the earphones are high quality. The sound is remarkable on these Mp3 players, so ask me if I am happy ? YES! Ask me if I would purchase more in the future? YES! Also, at first I thought I had a problem with the mp3 player because when i connected the USB to the computer, nothing happened. I called the store and the store told me someone from MANNDIGITAL technical support would call me. 1 Hour later someone called me from MANNDIGITAL and we went through a few troublshooting steps and he told me to try another USB port on my computer and IT WORKED fine! Overall, I've had a great experience and saved a few bucks for a QUALITY item.
42Well in an shannon airport(ireland) there was this machine in the arcade section in which you could win one of these "fake ipods' . I somehow won on my first. it wasnt compatible with itunes but was still easy to get music onto . and it had 2gb which i thought was pretty gud . so mabye it is worth buying. But i wouldnt .
43I bought 10 fake ipods In the market for christmas and they are cool
