Every once in a while an item comes along that doesn't quite fit in the totally geeky or geek chic category. In fact, I can't think of anything chic about these "wireless" headphones from Arriva. The device isn't on the market yet, but it was designed to dock your shuffle in the center of the back of your head. It's not wireless in the usual Bluetooth, IR, or RF way, but the makers are calling it "wireless" because it connects to your shuffle via the built-in dock instead of a wire. I think it looks like one of those squiggly headbands that were popular in the mid-90s. Pricing for the device, which is being marketed to athletes, will be announced early next week and the headphones should begin shipping in 5 to 6 weeks. Will you get in line for a pair or do you think they are as awkward looking as I do?

I think this might be a bit uncomfortable to exercise in, and wouldn't it be a bit of a pain to control my music from the back of my head?
looks totally crazy...but interesting at the same time...i think my hair would get caught... all in all, thumbs down.
WTF? I wouldn't wear it!
I agree with jhuck. It looks a bit uncomfortable. It's not very geeky chic either. I wouldn't buy it.
this is not at all attractive. it looks freaky.
I love that - it looks a bit weird, but I could put that on and ride my bike or even teach a class! LOL
I am afraid to see what the front of it looks like
haha yeah i wouldn't wear this
I love the iPod Shuffle and all, but that Wireless thing is just weird and ugly, LOL. I'd never wear that.
How on earth are you suppose to get to the controls easily while jogging or biking or doing anything? It seems silly for them to do this with the shuffle as it is designed to be clipped onto your clothing. I love having my shuffle within easy reach clipped onto the bottom of my shirt or into my jeans pocket.
Love the Ipod Shuffle, but leave the ''arriva headphones''
Uhhhhh, no.
No thanks
What a waste. I would never wear or buy that.
Wouldn't it bounce all over the place when working out, leading to hair tangles with the added annoyance of being thwacked in the back of the head with every step? No thanks!
I really don't see the need for this.
That's too cool.
Really useful.
I don't see the practicality of the shuffle being at the BACK of your head. It makes no sense.
Geeky? Yes. Useful? Doubtful.
oh - so very crazy!
It looks really easy for someone to snatch, so that's not good. If you were running, another "runner" could rip them off your head, without really caring if they hurt your ears or not.
crazy!
I can picture a thief behind my back if I was wearing this
I agree with wynnkey, looks like it would make your player easier for someone to steal, with it being right in the back of your head...you would never see them coming. I hope this does not make it to market.
If I had a shuffle, this would be perfect to workout with. Just hit play and go!
crazy, but also practical.
Good idea - bad design. Why the squiggle instead of just a standard headphone design. Also - you won't really be able to push any buttons since they are on the back of your head.
