Why in the world did Steve Jobs get so excited about the iPhone when he has probably played with this one a ton of times more than two decades ago?! Newlaunches dug deep within the Fudder Apple archives of Marc Esslinger to find this exclusive picture of the first iPhone from 1983. Designed by Marc's dad, Hartmut Esslinger (he also designed the the famous Apple IIc, which was Apple's first portable computer in 1984), this Vintage Geek treat was Apple's first product featuring the magnificent touchscreen. I can now quote myself by saying: "The rave reviews about the iPhone's multi-touch screen are all true!"

1That does not look vintage at all
if the receiver did not have the cord it would still be great office phone
wow just the look of it brings back memories of elementary school and the IIc!
2Apple is always ahead of the game! Even back in 1983.
3Oldschool!
Agreed - it doesn't look 20 years old at all!
4This is so cool. I agree it doesn't look so old fashioned...but as far as Apple is concerned, this is a dinosaur.
