If I had an electric car, this is where I'd want to charge it up. Better than hooking up to a charger that gets its energy from a power plant, charging up at this solar forest lets you save a (real) plant or two. A concept design brought to you by Neville Mars, the solar forest would find a home at your nearest urban concrete parking structure (taking up the entire top open-air level, perhaps?), would create its own energy from the sun, and would shade your car while it's juicing up. I can't think of a better and cleaner way to get around, and seriously — this design is pretty freaking cool. What do you think?

Ooh I love this idea!! Very cool.
That looks so neat.
Yes. This. Now!
No more stuffy, dark carparks that smell like gas???? Yes please
It's pretty cool, but it doesn't take real advantage of the solar power. As you can see there are some shadowed pannels that won't receive solar light and will not work. Very cool design but not a good technical one.
WOW! this is so amazing
As the sun moves through its arc, it's likely that all the panels will receive at least some few hours of sunlight, particularly if the installation can be programmed to follow that arc.
I would be very interested in this as an alternative to the windmills for generation of power to specific neighborhoods. Here in my neighborhood (Mt. Pleasant, DC) there are a number of spots where a few of these trees could be set up, corners of public parks and stuff like that, and perhaps could be turned to general power return to the grid... Hmmmm...
yes please
That would be cool, especially if it became reality.
very awesome. i love it!
That looks so amazing - very innovative!
