There was quite a moan when Apple introduced its new MacBook Pros last October — not over the lack of Blu-ray support or the price, but over the screen: new MBPs were presented with the glossy screen.
The missing alternative was the matte screen, which also happens to be antiglare, which the glossy glass LCD screen is not. For those who missed the matte, your agony is over, since Apple has added it back as an option for some of the Pros, depending on the size (albeit for an extra $50).
Whether you like matte or glossy usually comes down to what you're doing with your computer, and aesthetics — while I prefer the slick look of the glass (even the controversial corner-to-corner design), the matte screen does seem to be easier on the eyes.
What do you prefer?

Christian Dior
Tula
Vivienne Westwood
Matte, definitely. The glossy has way too much glare, and is kind of annoying to look at. I guess in a dark room it's okay...but you're not always in a dark space.
1when i first got the new gen mbp I counted the glossy screen as a con but I've grown to like it, the colours seem more vivd on a glossy screen but that's just me...
2I prefer matte
3I don't have experience with glossy.
I will be getting a new MBP when Snow Leopard is unleashed and will get glossy
only because I will have an external Matte monitor to work with.
I wouldn't mind getting glossy had they not charged extra for it.
4I also like the black bezel around the glossy screen, but i'm biased to the color black
ooops, i meant "i wouldn't mind getting matte"
5anything that eases my eyes is a plus for me. it's crap they charge extra for it. that's why i'm a pc girl
6I like matte because of the glare factor but glossy does look cool.
7I think the colors look alot better in glossy, but the matte is way easier on my eyes.
8OMIGOD!!! SO HAPPY APPLE CAME TO IT'S SENSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9I can tolerate glossy if I have too. But I like matte usually.
10As a photographer, I need the glossy screen to edit pictures, and was excited when it became an option on the Mac Book Pros. Even though I prefer the glossy, I think it sucks that what was once a free choice is now something the feel the need to charge for.
11so i didn't undestand... apple will charge you if you want a glossy screen or a matte screen??
12i haved to looking for the spec of my macbook 2.4 ghz ...so i have glossy screen and i didnt knewn lol
13so i will go with with glossy because i dont remember using a matte screen before and i like my screen right now
My sister has the glossy kind and I'm always squinting trying to read things. I much more prefer to read the matte kind of screen even though it may look less fancy.
14I really don't like the glossy screen -_-
