I'm a busy gal, and most of the time find myself working wherever I can — on the couch, on the train, anywhere I can find a WiFi signal. But when I'm at the office, I like to not only use my laptop monitor, but hook it up to my cinema display and double my desktop real estate. When I'm at home? It's a single screen for me.
I do notice a big difference in productivity when I have more than one monitor. I typically use my laptop screen for emails and IMs while my cinema is used for blogs and writing up posts. However, one of my friends is an animator and uses three screens daily. Needless to say, he's got a huge desk. What about you — are you a single-screen gal, or do you make the most of your desk space and use multiple monitors? How many monitors do you use?

i use at least 2 connected to my main pc and my macbook on the side. if you're working with graphics/web related tech, more than 1 monitor is kind of a necessity these days. i have no idea why you would want more than 1 monitor if all you do is surf the web/email/write blog posts though. seems superfluous and energy wasting to me.
1I'm a student so i only use my macbook screen
2I have more than 1 monitor, but 1 hooked up, would love to hook the other up to have a TV set up since my computer is compatible with that.
3i only use one (my macbook screen) but would use more if i was able to.
4...but I could easily use more than one.
5I had two when I worked in IT and to be honest, it was awesome! It sucked to change jobs and then have a dinosaur computer and a CRT screen.
6I use one more frequently, but I chose "more than one" because I do on occassion and find myself much more productive! Its just a hassle when you're traveling, which I do a lot of for work.
7i use two. i have a 23 inch monitor and my macbookpro screen. it's necessary to build web pages, flash movies and edit photos at the same time. haha. i'd like one more but maybe that's over kill. haha.
8OK, I have to admit that I have 3 MONITORS on my desk! The worst part of it is that I am 5'2" and can barely see over them from behind my desk when I meet with visitors. But then again...I also sit on pillows when I drive my F150 too
9i currently have the one but I'm shopping around for a bigger monitor to hook up to my mbp when I'm at home so I can work on my designs better, which is really the only thing i need it for.
i LOVE LOVE LOVE the spaces function so I can multi task without the windows piling up. When I'm super busy I have one window with photoshop or illustrator, one window for email & web browsing, one window with VLC &.or itunes up and the last one with my ical and msn/yahoo/skype open
I LOVE IT
10I have one widescreen screen, but my husband has two regular screens. But he's a programmer and I guess needs it.
11I also have a laptop, so on the occasion I need another screen (like questing in WoW) I'll simply have that next to me to look things up.
I have my macbook and Dell XPS laptop connected using Synergy. I LOVE working with them this way, and I've found that it increases my productivity to have two screens active at once.
Because I'm using the two OSes, I can't exactly drag and drop windows between them, but having certain programs running in XP and others running in Leopard makes things a lot easier. Synergy DOES allow me to share the clipboard though.
Plus, it makes web design a little bit easier too, I can test out my sites on both OSes with all kinds of browsers without switching keyboards and touchpads
12I have two 1920x1200's
13But iI'm a graphic designer, i feel like i can't work without them, i could use one more i think..
