After the success of the Zi6 pocket recorder [1], Kodak has decided to improve their line-up of camcorders by introducing the Zi8, which can easily be compared to Pure Digital's latest — the Flip Ultra HD. Available in red, black, and blue for only $180, the Zi8 offers 1080p recording, a 2.5-inch LCD display, a SD card slot, Facebook functionality, and can capture 5-megapixel stills. Kodak even announced that it'll be able to capture video in low-lighting conditions, something the Flip hasn't been able to do [2]. I'd have to get my hands on one to see if it's better than the Flip in terms of usability and quality, but I'm definitely liking what I'm hearing!
