I got my invite last week
1This is an awesome idea. Definitely appropriate for the times you don't want to give someone your actual phone number, but they can still reach you. Plus, instead of having to give people your new cell number or something, they can just call this number and reach you on your phone.

5I totally agree with Chrstne...this perfect for my business when I don't have to get out my real number for people to contact me...also helps on facebook when you have the option to placing your number. I'm signing up today and redoing all my business cards...another thing: great idea when looking for a job for the employer to contact you, you can always be reach and never miss "your hired" call.
6I was originally signed up when it was GrandCentral and they just converted us over to Google Voice.
It's an amazing service. I started out using it as a junk number so I'd know when a telemarketer was calling but now that I've been using the voice mail, etc. I'm in love.

13I signed up for it last year, when it was Grand Central, so I've had my number for a while. I never use it though. I suppose now that I'm doing Avon, I'll use it for my customers. Haven't thought that through much, but it's better than paying for another line, yeah?

20Got my invite....don't know why someone wouldn't use this...only a few good points...this is a number u will have for life....regardless of what u do with your cell phone house or business...it follows.....u can screen and record and pick up like old time answering machines if u decide u want the call. best part of all is it is web based, so if you share a voice plan or limited minutes but like me with my g1 phone i have an unlimited data plan for 25 bucks.....make and take all my calls, and don't use a minute of the shared minutes...will never go over my plan....now is that cool or what....make sure u register for an invite....oh yeah, u make your own number from whats available.....type in a word and search whats available....imagine 202-crystal 555-Michael...too cool

though. I'm glad people like the concept that Voice provides. It's just not for everybody.
23I have been using this program for over a month now and I love it! Traveling overseas often can add up when it comes to texting but with GVoice I can send as many texts back to the States as I want for free.
24Hey guys, how long does it usually take to get the acceptance back from google. I requested an invitation two days ago and nothing yet
25I just got my invite yesterday, but my area code is not available... I will keep trying. I got my invite about a week after I put in my request.
