Lately, it seems like publishing has started to recognize us — us, as in geek girls (sorry boys) — by churning out books for us, even if it's not in our usual medium.
I enjoyed How to Be a Geek Goddess, and for different reasons, Geeky Dreamboats, so Tech Girls Are Chic ($18) is a welcome addition.
The book focuses on 16 women who work in technology jobs, to show an audience of all girls (not just us geeks who already know what's up) that tech jobs are welcoming to women. I'm all for something that encourages girls not to shy away from tech.
One question though: Does it come in a Kindle version?

Don't worry Geek, if it did come in a Kindle version it would just be preaching to the converted. This book is just so the rest of our sex can start to appriciate us.
1As I was reading your post I was wondering about the Kindle version too
I just
checked and it isn't.
@kiwigeek, I totally agree. One of my favorite lines from a movie "She's like Batman for computers". Such a great compliment
2Thanks for the promo of the book, and great question about the kindle. No it isn't available electronically (yet) for the reasons you say, converting those already converted. It is currently only in hard copy as it has been mostly distributed in schools but there is an extension to the hard copy coming in an online version very soon! So if you would like to be profiled as a tech girl in a similar way to the book, then please contact me!
3I didn't know about these books. I will have to check them out.
@macgirl - after reading the Twilight series & other books on the Kindle app, I finally bought a Kindle. Loving it so far. Do you have one or simply using the Kindle app?
4@MissMarisol sadly I'm still Kindle app only but the new $299 price tag means it will be mine shortly.
As far as geeky girls go, there is a shortage of us. I'm an Apple tech and there is only a handful of women that do what I do. To be all honest, if I wouldn't have fell into it, I don't think I would have gotten into it on my own. It's nothing I would have ever thought about but it is a perfect fit for me.
