Being so comfortable with technology that I consider myself quite tech-savvy, it's a huge bummer when technology doesn't work the way it's supposed to.
You adopt a new online service and give it your support — but it crashes incessantly, making it impossible to appreciate their innovation. You adopt a new gadget early only to be the one to have to deal with the bugs. You make a service call for a broken or malfunctioning machine — and have to face off with someone who knows less than you patronizing you (don't even get me started on the gender thing).
No, there's not much worse than technology not working when you need it or how you need it. We all have our tech pet peeves. What's yours?

Donna Karan
Napo Shop
Alexander Wang
right now it's the fact that my harddrive is dead.
1There aren't that many people who are readily accessible that know what they're talking about, so when you need specific help or advice (URGH TECH SUPPORT!) you can't get it.
I hate how new technology is so expensive - terrible markups, and ridiculous return policies. Store demos aren't like actually *having* one, and when you find that it just isn't for you, it's a hassle to try and take it back or exchange it for something else that DOES work better. Of course you can do all the research in the world...but most of the time you just don't know how something is until you HAVE it.
299.9% of the tech things I buy have some kind of problem with them. I literally don't have one piece of equipment that hasn't had some kind of problem with it.
3Wireless devices that interfere with one another. I have wireless speakers for my surround sound, and when they are on it slows the wireless (internet) to a crawl or just disconnects. I love wireless technology but I dont think we have enough of the spectrum "allowed" to allow devices (2.5/5.
not to mess with one another.
4The Xerox 7760 Printer we have at my office is the biggest P.O.S! I hate it!
5For me it's how when you pay a good amount of money for something, you learn the next week that a newer, fancier and cheaper model is coming out.
6For me it's the lack of MMS on my iPhone. I know it's supposed to be coming, but come on, how hard can it be when every other phone on the market can do it.
7I have many problems with technology (such as Internet never wants to work for me), but my main aggravation to date is the fact that I happen to live in Australia where it is impossible to have the most up to date technology. I REALLY would like the LG eNV2 phone, but of course Australia doesn't even have CDMA yet, so I think I'll be waiting a while till that comes out.
8Right now, it's my Blackberry Pearl freezing up when I'm in the middle of a text conversation for website browsing.... I am constantly taking the battery out and putting it back in. I'm eligible for my upgrade, but I don't want to lock into a new contract for 2 years with Verizon. Grrr.
9My biggest pet peeve is the lack of a consumer level option on the Mac Pro. I want an upgradeable Mac essentially, but I don't want one best suited for graphic design.
10I HATE 2 yr contracts! I want to be able to get a new phone every year. I know they do them because they want you to keep paying them monthly for as long as possible but I'm like, "hey, have good service where I need it and i'll stay with you... I just want a new phone once every year!!" lol.
well, at least I don't live in canada where it's 3 yrs. and with sprint I can upgrade every year and a half.
11VISTA definetely and the fact that iPhone costs 10,000 pesos here.. like 800 USD, plus 300-400 usd montly bills.
12They're way too expensive so I haven´t got it.
I wish they were more affordable.
omg! what country are you in, cherry pie?
13Wireless networking problems are my biggest headache. Those included discs with the routers never seem to configure everything correctly out of the box. With a PS3, Wii, Xbox, desktop computer, two laptops, and my cellphone, if the network isn't working right, I feel totally crippled. And the gender tech support thing, I can totally relate to. "Is the router plugged in? Do you see lights?" Grrr...
14Our old ISP had some pretty confused people running the phone lines. They didn't seem to have a standard protocol, so they let me sign my dad up for a 2-year contract for 1.5mbps internet service. However, when we were only getting 256kbps afterward as well, it took a lot of calling and complaining on my part before they sent anyone out. And they never fixed it. All two years. Now we have a new ISP and get the 20mpbs we're paying for (at least, on days with low internet traffic).
15Dealing with people who think I don't know anything about computers because I'm a girl. Yes, you CAN get help from me, just because I have boobs doesn't mean I don't know anything.
16My biggest pet peeve is the cell phone dead zone I live in. I want to abandon a land line but can't. Friends with various carriers hardly have luck here either. And it isn't like I live in the middle of nowhere.
17Kia- I can totally relate. When I lived with my parents the only way you could get reception was by laying a very specific way on my parents bed.
@Work- The fact that my computer is SO SLOW and I have to stare at it all day (major headache)
@Home- I hate Windows, but cannot afford to upgrade to a Mac (yes, I do consider this an upgrade)
