How I'd Wire Weeds' Nancy Botwin
Weeds' Nancy Botwin
recently proved she has no respect for the Zune and I got to thinking about how the hemp-loving hippie chick could better integrate technology into her wacky world of coffee drinking and living on the edge in Suburbia.
Nancy's son Shane has been geeking out with his Mac and security systems since he was a tot, but Nancy seems to be stuck in a technology rut. She drives a Prius with built-in Bluetooth, but her cell phone looks like the clunky flip phone I had before college. It's high time I offer the green queen some suggestions for
getting wired.

Right before I open this, I knew you would give her an Iphone.
*yawn*
1hahaha @wildstrawberry - I did too, and I thought, "Even geeksugar isn't dumb enough to suggest that a drug dealer/former drug dealer/drug dealer's babymama get an iPhone, since such things are highly, highly traceable..." but never one to let me down, geeksugar made the totally ridiculous mistake.
Ever been past a Cricket store, geek? You can't get cool prepaid cellphones, and someone like Nancy definitely can't be tied into an iPhone contract. Her cell is probably the most realistic thing about this whole show!
2yeah I second that @HaterTot, that was a topic touched on in the third season. The less documentation she has the less she can be accused of.
Plus Nancy is more lucky in lust than she is smart; you do watch the show right?
I would say the suggestion of modernizing her would kill the her character she's confused enough about life, she doesn't need gadgets or toys and BS drive her more nutz. Where and how would she carry around this junk with her skimpy dresses, she flies by the seat of her pants losing stuff all the time, and skipping town every year she can lose everything at the drop of the hat; why would she want to even bother having quality stuff when she has other people and things to worry about, or the time download photos to th computer she doesn't have? leave the tech stuff to shane, and or just leave it out all together so its more believable... even if it is just a TV show.
