One thing is for certain: The iPhone is the gadget of the summer - if not this whole year. We've been talking about it for months now, so the fact that it's finally being released this Friday is a real triumph to our ability to stay focused on one shiny thing. Of course, it is a very shiny thing.
Whether you are planning on camping out in line this Friday to get your very own iPhone, hoping to sneak a peek at your friend's new gadget sometime next week, or even if you don't want one at all, there's still something about the phone that peaks your interest.
Personally, it's the fact that it's a three-in-one device: iPod, phone and, as the commercials say, "internet in my pocket." I'm most excited about playing with the touchscreen and QWERTY soft keyboard.

1I am so excited even though there are huge rumours that it will not be available in my country, and even that there is a big question will it actually be so huge in Europe cause we support different standards here. As a Mac Geek I would die to have one and I love everything about it except that contract thing... What if the carrier that Apple chose for Europe is not available in my country
Anyway, as much as I love Apple, they have to understand that Europe is very
important market when it comes to cell phones!!!
2TechSugar - you should give one of these away - that would be the coolest!
3Oops - meant GeekSugar! Now I guess since I used the wrong name it won't happen
4Oh, man. The iphone. This is on my "if I win the lotto" wish list, but for now my ipod and cell phone will have to remain two separate devices.
Any word on how much the monthly phone service is going to cost with all of those web applications?
5I do not want an iPhone. First, it's too expensive. Second, if I want to do all that crap, why not just use my laptop. Third, I bet service for it will cost a TON. Finally, the "touch screen" will get fingerprints all over it in like an instant and drive me NUTS!!! So there...take that iPhone!
6I am excited about using Google maps on it.
7I will get one, but not right away. My husband and I both want the $600 one and we need to save up a little cash first.
Anyway, it's smarter to wait for Mercury to go direct on July 10th.
all things are great in iphone. i can't wait to get one!
8I am so getting this phone
9ditto guineapig's comment.
I'm not excited about it because I don't want one (gasp, how can that be true?). What a waste of money.
10if i were rich enough, why not?
11hmm.. i like my phone bettah, LG Fusic!! i'm the only one at my school that has one cuz evry1 else has Rzrs.. but it's not like, a crappy phone, it is totally cool!!
12I have the LG chocolate with touchpad and well, it ain't so great when moist or cold.
13please. the treo has had touch screen for years. YES you can touch your contact with your finger on the screen and call them, amongst other things!
14I totally want this, but don't want to switch cell providers just to get it...
15I am not excited at all. for only 8gb's and not even being able to do anything I really want to do. What program would I run to balance my check book? Would I really watch a movie on that tiny screen? I can borrow my grandma's 5" tv from her kitchen. There is no one I would spend anywhere close to that amount of money on a phone, especially when I can only use cingular, the old At&t, and now the new At&t. Ill stick to my Nokia 6236 on Verizon. Plus with the amount that I use my Ipod (driving to and from work), Substituting my Pocket PC with it(though my pocket pc does more and cost less), and using it as a phone, I would seriously be charging up that thing every 4 hours. Why even unplug it?
16Can you record video?
17I'm so excited about the new iphone, it look really cool, too bad that I'll won't be able to buy it
18this is the sexiest phone i have ever seen. i just want to touch it. but-that will have to be awhile since i can't afford one anytime soon. But it nice to lust after it.
19Driving directions with traffic information... Need I say more?
20I'm excited for the better, second generation of the iPhone. I already have AT&T and I'm tellin ya, this iPhone is going to be crippled without 3G or something faster. AT&T was such a poor choice for the iPhone. Everyone I know that has AT&T has terrible problems with their service. And last time they had a really big, hyped phone, (for example the RAZR) they would often times sell really bad quality phones and reconditioned phones as new because demand was high. I used to have a friend who worked there, so this is how I learned about some of their shady practices.
21Why couldn't Apple have chosen Verizon?
