I actually work in radio for a second job, so I walked into the studio to set up for the show and heard. It was such a shock because some were confirming while others were saying that he was in a coma. It was wild because I didn't have time to take everything in. I was constantly reading for any new news so that we could report to all the people calling in. It's all very shocking.

P.S. Although I'm really sad at his death, I really feel for his children.

I saw it though Perez Hilton and I couldn't beliieve it so I checked on TMZ and said he was dead. I couldnt believe TMZ was saying that so i turned on the news to see what was happening and there it was L.A. TImes first saying he was in a coma and then dead. it was pretty shocking for me and my family.

I woke up from my nap and logged on Facebook and EVERYONE was talking about it. All mixed reactions. The ones on Twitter were the best.

Twitter and then I went to TMZ. As smutty as TMZ is they really are very fast and reliable with their news.

Text, and then I googled it trying to make sure that people weren't lying to make everyone upset. So, when it was confirmed, my stupid ass BF said "cool", because he loves the idea of having something memorable happen (sick man.) and being able to be like "where were you when MJ died'' sorta like what happened with 9/11. I mean, the man is legend. But, I started crying.

My Yahoo homepage told me.

i was riding home with my brother when someone texted him. i already knew he was having heart problems so i wasn't too shocked.

I was on twitter.

I was checking my facebook on my phone and then I went to the mobile yahoo site.

I found out on 'twitter'. I then googled to find out what was going on. I'm still not sure what to think about all of this. Death is never something easy to deal with, no matter who the person is.

My co-worker saw it online, and I refused to believe it was true until it was reported on CNN. I still can't believe it's true...

i was just happened to watch the news while on vacation in canada. I saw the breaking news about rushing him to the hospital and I've been glued ever since.

Twitter (at the office), then NPR (while driving back to my home office), then CNN & Twitter while working from my home office.

a friends facebook status... I know it's lame

Before taking off for dinner last night I checked my Facebook for more birthday messages and I saw this on a few statuses. I went on CNN to confirm.

Found out on twitter. Checked facebook and same news via status updates. Finally went on TMZ to read more.

i was downtown and street performers were playing michael jackson songs and when i went to 7-11 to buy a slurpee, the cashier lady told me he died

I saw some Tweets about people worried about MJ, so I checked TMZ and there it was, te news that he had passed.

I was folding clothes and packing, getting ready for a week long vacation to visit my family with my boyfriend. The TV had not been on all day an I had not been online all day. My mom called me that afternoon when she heard the news and aske me if I'd saw the special report that just came on TV..I was like now, what's up..and she told me he was gone!!!!!!!! I could not believe it! I did not accept the news the rest of the day, but today i finally cried and it was real, watching all the tributes and videos on TV and youtube!! RIP MICHAEL!!!

Two of my friends sent me text messages while I was in class. And then I looked it up on my phone during my break. it is so sad.

I was in the middle of painting my room and I had the news on in the background when I heard that TMZ had reported his death. I started freaking out trying to see if what I heard was true.

i found out on twitter from someone who linked to the tmz article. and then i started researching because i don't listen to anything on tmz. they are leeches and not journalists. i've been devastated ever sense.

Twitter! It was so confusing because at first it was the news that he'd been taken to the hospital, then that "things were not good", then everybody said he'd died, then CNN said that he was in a coma. Finally the LA Times confirmed the sad news.

i found out on the radio (kroq). i swear, i turned on the radio (bf and i had JUST gotten into the car) and they were just announcing it too. i tried going on tmz on my phone and it wouldn't let me... i guess cuz everyone else was trying to get on too.

Facebook statuses. I never check news of any type, anything that could interest me always ends up on fb-although admittedly, the only reason this would affect me is that I like to be kept up to date on things my peers consider important.

One of the members from one of my favorite bands posted about it and I damn near fell out of my chair. I went and googled it immediately and was just floored.

TMZ.. as odd as that is.. was incredibly prompt and accurate.. i waited until a "real" news source confirmed it before i tweeted

I was at work. My manager told me, I think she read it on TMZ. Then I googled it. I was shocked!

I have a radio alarm! I woke up to hear the news on radio

I had been sleeping most of the day as I had not been feeling well,
I woke up around 11 pm, and got onto a forum of mine,
where a friend said she was sad, and made a comment to the extent of
"Whereever he is right now, I hope he's in his 20s and moonwalking..."
And I was just like "Wait, what? He's dead?!!?!"

I saw it on the news channel. I had been watching since they took him to the hospital. Then I called my dad and he was watching too. He said it reminded him of when Elvis passed away.

I read it on Twitter, then googled it and turned on the TV to verify. I was shocked and saddened. It was crazy how quickly the news broke though.

I was right after I got off from work and picked my sister up. The first thing she said was "Michael Jackson died!" At first I thought she was joking (a kind of distasteful joke) but then she gave me her cell phone and showed me the article with the bad news. I felt a wave of sadness and then disbelief. I was already pretty sad with the Farrah Fawcett news but her death was kind of no surprise since we already knew she had cancer. RIP Farrah and Michael.

I was in the kitchen cooking up lunch when my parents came home from shopping. I mentioned that I overhead about Farrah Fawcett's passing on the morning news, and they counted with MJ. They had heard it on the radio, but I was watching Days of Our Lives, so I completely missed it.

I logged onto facebook and someone wrote "RIP MJ."
I assumed it was some friend of theirs but the rest of the status update was " ... your funeral will be larger then Princess Di's."
So obviously I had to turn on the tv to see what and who they were referring to.

I was at a water park and one of the lifeguards told me and my friends. We didn't believe him so we went and looked on our phones

I was on Twitter, and it was my only source of news. The internet was down at work that day, and I couldn't get anything news sites to load on my BlackBerry!

i saw it on the news he had a heart attack and thought 'he'll be okay, they have to make him better' and then about ten minutes later a friend called and told me he had passed and it was on the news a few minutes later.
I'm still in shock, no one can say he wasn't a legend and he really will love on forever. My thoughts are with his family, I know how hard it is to lose a loved one, but for them it's especially hard since he was so young.
I'm sure he's singing and dancing up in heaven
