Turns out that Pop fave and Transformers star Shia LaBeouf is something of a console snob!
In a recent interview, Shia was asked if he'd gotten a chance to test out the Transformers game on the Wii, and he had some choice (and colorful, as per usual) words for Nintendo's console:
"I haven't been able to play the Wii game because my hand is broken. I've just been playing Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. I would imagine that the Wii experience will be like . . . I don't mess with the Wii, to be honest with you. It's kind of an amateur console. I'm not into the Wii thing."
Then, when the interviewer asks what's wrong with the Wii, LaBeouf fires:
"This is how in a simple way you can find out if it's a gamer you want to play with. Ask them if they have a Wii. If they say yes, get the f*** out of there."

Lame! He's not someone I'd want to game with.
1lol.. I'm not into the Wii either... but then again I don't considered myself a gamer. I am big on the DS though.
2So he's "too good" for the Wii? LOL. I think the Wii has set the standard for all gameplaying to come. Every future console will have the "movement" capability. Wii can be a bit too kiddish at times, but it's great fun to play it in gatherings!
3I'm curious if there are any gamers out there that really play their Wii as often as owners of PS3/360 consoles do? (I mean beyond the fitness "games.") Shia said it kinda snotty, but I agree with him. I think the Wii is more for the casual gamer.
4I'll admit, in recent months I've played my xbox a LOT more than the Wii (although that will change when Super Mario Galaxy comes out), but I don't see the need to be a "snob" when it comes to console games. Let people play what they like.
It's not like you can get the newest Zelda or Mario game on anything but a Nintendo console anyway
5whatever the wii is fun to play with others. i'm not going to play fable or other xbox games when i got a bunch of people over. bust out the mario kart however, and its fun for everyone. why do gamers think if its just fun, its not serious enough.
6I bought a Wii because I liked the games...but I've found since I've had it that I *really* want an Xbox. Like SO BAD. Playing some games on the Wii is more involved and kind of diminishes resale value...like I want to play Guitar Hero. I've got it on the PS2, but there's no online feature there. I'd get GH for the Wii, but I'd have to buy a guitar that can't be used on any other console BUT the Wii (because the remote has to go inside of it to register).
I don't mind all the fitness games for the Wii, but having to buy all the extra accessories kind of kills that. I shouldn't have to spend $90 for an accessory equipment.
Not only that, the rumors I've seen from both Sony and Microsoft about the Xbox and Playstation refreshes (supposed to come out 2011, I think?) indicate that they're going to incorporate more of the movement/action interface that the Wii uses anyway. Maybe they'll do it and it will be more popular than on the Wii, but active interface is the future of gaming. Shia needs to get with it!
He's just pissed he couldn't play because his broke his hand!
7I loathe stuck up gamers. Just because people might enjoy the Wii more shouldn't mean you won't associate with them. Lame.
8To be fair though, I do play my Xbox more. But still, lame.
Who cares?
9What about the people who have a Wii ... and a 360, GameCube, PS2, and an N64, Super Nintendo and Genesis?
I'd consider anyone who plays games with any routine - and not just here and there, or only one game - a gamer. And with this attitude, Shia is a gamer I'd definitely not want to play with.
And in response to shiningeyes: I'd say I play my Wii about half as much as the 360, but I do play with regularity.
10An amateur console?
Wii games take more coordination and have a higher activity level since
you're not sitting on your @ss for most of them. What a little douche.
11Wii does need your good coordination to get into the fun of the games just right. I haven't played it yet but I keep hearing that alot of people like Wii.
12"Not that this is what we're supposed to be talking about, but it validates my gamer cred."
eww, he just sounds like such a dbag
13hahaha listen too all u wii nubs, i have friends who have ALL THREE game consoles and dont even touch their wiis LOL wii takes NO coordination i have played them multiple times and its the same motions over-and-over-and-over again with no replay value because everything is the same and it gets extremely boring...... and LMAO to Sontaikle, SUPER MARIO GALAXY IS ALREADY OUT WHAT THE F**CK ARE U TALKING ABOUT IT CAME OUT LAST YEAR DIDNT IT??? I totally agree with shia and this article is stupid, they say he was crudely insulting megan fox but he ws playing around because everyone knows girls like that suck at videogames because they have so much other sh*t going on like saaaay ACTING and prolly partying i know i would be
14I don't like the wii either. I've got one and I think it was just a waste of my money. I prefer Xbox, playstation or DS. Just my opinion.
