Yesterday I got some good news for anyone who upgraded to an iPhone 3G last year, only to be told they wouldn't be eligible for an upgrade to the 3G S at the time of its launch: you may have just been given the green light.
So even if you're not eligible yet, there's a silver lining, and that goes for all iPhone users (and Touch, holla!): the 3.0 OS update! I thought the OS update to 2.0 last year was amazing, but 3.0, with its ooh-la-la features including cut and paste, Spotlight, and MMS, feels like more than just a firmware update (check out my review for all of my thoughts).
Of course, I am still rabid about the new iPhone 3G S — the new camera, the compass, the voice control, and video. Oh, the video. But I am afraid to check and see if I even qualify for the upgrade now because I'm worried I'll be tempted, almost sure I'll buy it if I can, when I know perfectly well that I am getting a cool thing already with the 3.0 OS.
So tell me — what excites you more, the new iPhone's features, or the new OS's features?

The 3gs. I am most excited about the compass. Yes, I am a nerd.
13GS, because it'll be my first iPhone
23G S as it gets closer to being the only gadget I need to carry. No more Flip or Canon Elph!
3for me it's the OS cause my iphone is just a few months old so an upgrade to the 3GS is not on the table...
4i had the original for over a year and a half and could never warm up to the keyboard. Even with a landscape keyboard I'm not sure I could stand it.
my boyfriend loves the new OS
5sooo the iphone is now an ipod
I am liking the OS so far. I freaked out because I was getting texts but no previews when it was on auto lock. Luckily it was just a change in the settings
I am definitely taking full advantage of the copy and paste feature.
6I feel genuinely underwhelmed by both. I can upgrade for free but I just feel jaded about the whole thing.
7My iPhone 3G is just fine so I'll go with the OS update --- although really, until AT&T gets their act together, I'm not as excited as I was. Apple finally gives us MMS capability and AT&T isn't able to support it yet. Boooooo.
8Yeah big boo to AT&T for not having MMS running yet. Lame! I pay them WAY too much money a month for the most basic iPhone plan, and they can't give us picture messaging? Even cheapo free phones have had it forever.
Geek, any word on why they haven't been able to support it yet?
