Edie Falco's new show Nurse Jackie has not only won a place in my heart for its casting of Twilight's Peter Facinelli as another doctor, but for pushing the iPhone within the first five minutes of its first episode.
A patient in the ER tells Facinelli's character, "Doc you gotta get an iPhone," (watch the scene on Buzz). Somehow I don't think that Mac-loving Facinelli is averse to Apple products, but I'll keep watching Nurse Jackie to see if his onscreen counterpart does.
That line also hit me — I have uttered the classic, "You gotta get an iPhone" line many a time, as well as the ol', "You gotta get a TiVo," "You gotta get a PS3," etc., etc.
I can't help it, I'm a gadget freak whose life has been made easier by my assorted tech toys, and I want to spread the gospel. Do you do the same to your friends, family, or colleagues?

Topshop
YES.
And, for better or worse, my life has been made much more expensive by friends who do the same
1Definitely. Tivo ranks up there with the MOST recommended gadget ever, for me! I'm also an advocate for the "presenter" for PowerPoint presentations to other teachers (if you're going to use PP, at least walk around your classroom). A month or so ago, though, I actually talked my dad OUT of an upgraded gadget. Well, I am pretty sure I did! I'll have to see if he can resist the siren's call of the iPhone 3GS . . . Geek even featured my quest to find him an appropriate cell phone! His Razr is going strong, who knows what will happen when it dies, though!
2I'm not usually the pusher but my son has been recommending the iPhone and I bought one this week after the price cut (so far, loving it!!)
3I have been trying to convince my mom to buy an iPhone and Mac, since her current phone and PC just do not work very well. So far, I haven't succeeded...
4I sometimes think that Apple should pay me commission. Since I converted to Apple in 2007 I've convinced 4 people to switch to Macs.
5ALL THE TIME!! I do this with everything (not just gadgets) if I like it, I want ppl to know how great it is!
Def. I preach tivo/dvr and I'm like you Sammi (since getting my mac in 2006) I literally encourage everyone I meet (esp. if they are in the market for a new computer) to make the switch!!
I also do this with cameras too!
6AND I def. listen to others recommendations--my friends/family would know if I product was good/bad etc.
Oh and I preach about my GPS and how much I love that too!
7AND (one last thing) I even recommend products I don't have but want/believe in (like the Kindle), as soon as I have the extra $$ I will get one--and I tell everyone I know how amazing it is!!
8Yes, I'm always plugging anything that is geekalicious!!
9I like plugging products that people might not be aware of... like the Roku
10I'm constantly pimping the iPhone, the Wii, and the Kindle. Those are my gadgets about which I am most passionate. Of course I love my MacBook as well, but it's harder to just get people to drop $1200!
11Not too much with gadgets however when it comes to phones, I will automatically tell someone "You have to have an iPhone." While I have yet to get mine (d*mn 2yr Blackberry contract..) I do know someone who owns one and let's me test it out; the iPhone is a very personalized computer in the palm of your hand.
12No, I don't typically tell other people what they should do/buy. Frankly, I find people who do (especially i Phone pushers) extremely annoying. I had an i Phone and I didn't like it. I definitely prefer my Blackberry!
