Right out of the gate, Apple introduces us to the new 15- and 13-inch MacBook Pros. Not only are these made in the same unibody aluminum case that the rest of the Mac lines are available in, but it's faster and still lighter than most models on the market and will keep you working longer than before: the new lithium ion batteries will last up to seven hours and 1,000 charges before the battery starts to show its age.
And with the new plumped up battery, the new MBP's will hold an up to a 500GB hard drive and 8GB of memory. But the most exciting part of the new MacBook Pro is the new SD Card slot. Instead of using your card reader (that I was complaining about last week), you can now just pop your SD card right into your computer instead. Both sizes of MacBook Pros will be released today and will start at $1,199 for the 13-inch and $1,699 for the 15-inch model.

This is pretty awesome. It's about time Macs started having SD card slots.
Sadly I
won't be getting a new computer for at least another year.
1Hot!
2I am loving the SD card slot. I've had my macbook for awhile but I use this little reader I got from Wal-Mart. This is great though for new macbook buyers!
3Love. even though I am not in the market for a new Macbook, i can still dream about this new one.
4Good timing — my Macbook is getting a little haggard as it approaches its third birthday. I'll run it into the ground, but it won't be too long until I need to buy a new computer.
5wow.. i may be becoming a mac *shocked*
6I ordered a 13-inch aluminum 2.4gig MacBook last week, and got an email on Thursday saying there was an "unexpected delay" in its shipment...today, I check my order status to see that they upgraded me to the new 13-inch MacBook Pro (that my MacBook from last week got changed to), AND are giving me $100 back!
7So stupid question: if you have the high end macbook from before the upgrade can you consider it a pro as well?
8I picked up the 13-in on Saturday!!! I Love it!!
