I don't know if you saw some of the very first iPhone cases and covers, but if you didn't I can sum them up by saying you didn't miss anything. They were either made from flimsy rubber or cheap plastic, not to mention the fact that they were black or clear - no fun colors whatsoever. The iShield by Pacific Rim Technologies caught my eye because it actually has substance and style. While the iPhone doesn't even come out until the 29, the folks on CrunchGear and iLounge both seem to love the iShield, which is made out of synthetic leather and comes in black, white, or red versions. No screen protector, but a detachable belt clip comes with it.

I'm not really crazy about the leather look for the iphone cases. It might just be my personal taste, though..
1although the leather look isn't all that appealing for me, i said i liked it. I like the colors and the fact that they so nicely hug the iphone.
2Wtf, IPhones?? Where have I been?
3its so ugly, no way
4i want an iPhone to begin with
5It looks odd, and if it doesn't cover the screen, then what's the point?
6Why would anyone pay $600 for a stupid cell phone!? Just because it has an "i" before it? People need to learn how to think for themselves.
7I would love to have an iphone, unfortunately, I will never get one because they are soo expensive, but this looks like a great product to protect the iphone.
8I don't like it.I think it makes the phone look cheap.
9I want a case for mine as I know it will get dropped
All my phones eventually do. I'm hoping
for a thin rubber case, mostly to protect the corners and the back.
You can't cover the screen due to it all being touch screen operated. What you may be able to do though is get this super strong film that was designed to protect helicopter blades. This company makes it for the iPod and some other devices, I'm sure they will get in the iPhone game http://www.shieldzone.com/
10it makes sense to have one to keep your phone pretty, but this is kind of ugly. too scuba
11It's not too bad, all things considered, but I have to second the Invisible Shield (from shieldzone) for low/no impact on the design of the iphone. Not sure how it might affect the touch screen, though. I have one for my ipod and it's amazing!
12eh, leave it
13Ugly! Can't they make it in a cute pink or something ... knowing apple they will, just after you bought the ugly color
14Hrm...I would go with something cuter!
