Some people hate the back button, but I for one use it like it's going out of style. Well, maybe that's an exaggeration. Either way, going back is a necessity sometimes. Going back to your ex? No. Going back to your high school haircut? Maybe not. Going back a web page? Yes.
So if you ever need to quickly go back a page in Firefox without using your mouse, you can use the shortcut Command+Left Arrow, and go back to your previous page. I have all kinds of handy Firefox keyboard shortcuts here, but do you have any cool shortcuts to share? Go ahead, you know you want to tell us in the comments!

I use a shortcut to quickly post any page on the web to Facebook. It's just part of the bookmarks drop-down menu, but now I can't find where I picked the tool up. Will keep looking.
1my favorite is to get a new tab in firefox
command + T
makes it really fast
2I actually have command-left arrow and command-right arrow assigned to an add-on called "Next Please!" But I just use the delete key to go back in Firefox.
3Backspace = Back
4If you are on Mac, you can hit control, shift and eject to put the display to sleep instantly.
Also? You can hit control, option, command and 8 to invert all of the colors on the screen. I do this to my husband's computer a lot to flirt with him.
He has to ask me to switch it back.

5i use backspace/delete, one key is shorter
spacekatgal, you don't happen to know how to invert the colours in Windows do you? I've always been a Mac girl but I bought a pc laptop in a pinch and somehow my bird found the shortcut to invert the colours on it... So far my attempts to restore it have proven unsuccessful, it's really frustrating!
6I love the command "clear screen" = Win - m
It gets you to your desktop immediately.
Also, I always assign shortcuts keys to my folder shortcuts on the desktop so I can just hit Ctrl-C (or whatever letter you assign to the shortcut) for that folder to come up.
7Yes, Weffie. Assuming you're on XP, it's Sift-Alt-Printscreen.
8I've always used backspace/delete to go back. Just one button. It works on both Macs and PCs I think and for both FF and IE.
9I think backspace is easier?
10Ctrl + "+" key makes the text bigger. Because I have the eyes of a 90-year-old woman sometimes and can't read many websites' text.
11(Ctrl + "-" makes the text smaller.)
i have an ibm thinkpad so ive got a special key just designated to go back lol.
12BACKSPACE!!!! GOD, don't say that Command+Left Arrow is easier.. what kind of researcher wrote this with out knowing the backspace....
13Anonymous - Mac keyboards don't have backspace keys.
Can we get rid of anonymous comments please? Some are great, but the majority (like comment #13) are just rude.
14Backspace works well unless you're in a type field. I like to use Command + Left Bracket (Back) or Right Bracket (Forth). CMND+"[" or CMND+"]"
15Thanks so much skg, I'll try that tonight! Fingers crossed!
16lildorothyparker - True, Mac keyboards don't have a backspace key, but they do have a delete key, even on the laptops, which works exactly the same as backspace, and that's what I always use (barring not being in a text field, as mentioned).
17I use these the most:
18Command + T new tab
Command + K puts cursor in search box (upper right corner)
Command + +/- for enlarging and reducing
Command + W close window
Command + H hides window
The command is Alt+key
19what about BACKSPACE? (shift + BACKSPACE) = FORWARD. (Alt + D) puts the cursor in the address bar! Old school.. you guys must be noobs.
20How could anyone hate a backspace button...Mm
21I have a backspace and I don't have a problem with it. Although I don't think Mac keyboards have backspace keys. I'm no Mac.
