If I've learned anything at all about the Nintendo DS this year it's that Americans aren't using the handheld device to its fullest potential. Sure we aren't afraid of covering them with Swarovski Crystal Covers or giving them out to VIP airline passengers, but we haven't started using them as portable life coaches, yoga instructors and wine guides like the Japanese have.
Konami, the company that brought the wondrous DDR into our lives, has created a virtual beauty adviser game with real life beauty adviser Chizu Saiki (see her picture in gallery).
The game, which is appropriately named Dream Skincare, will release this fall in Japan. It's being marketed as a fun, easy beauty experience. Apparently, the game checks your physical and emotional health every day through a series of questions, allows you to input your meals, body temperature and body weight daily, stores a personalized daily schedule and provides dietary advice and healthy recipes. Who doesn't want that?

skills too, yay
1Wow, now why aren't these "games" being released over here? I'd buy a DS for that.
2Whoa, I didn't want a DS until I read that! But I guess I will have to move to Japan first.
3I sooo want that! I wish American companies would release more "offbeat" but popular DS games over here.
4I personally am a fan of their Kanji (and general wide range of language study aids), and cooking guides as well! I totally want this program!
5i don't want that at all! there are so many cool things for the ds in japan. i hear that soon they think 85% of people there will have one...or something close to that! i wish i spoke japanese.
6I just think we don't embrace technology as much as Japan does. Everything is released there first >_
7i want it, love their brain aids
8I will own that. I mean, I learned how to play Sudoku and built my brain up to Shakespeare status with my DS. It was one of my best investments EVER! Now... If it were only a phone, iPod and digital camera as well...
9i want one!!! what's new?
10I want one too !
11Its not fair, Japan always gets the cool stuff
