Forty-two percent! Forty-two percent! That's how many people admitted to using their cell phone in the bathroom on a recent survey. I'm not really appalled, but mostly impressed that so many people were so honest.
I always assumed everyone did it, but kept it their dirty, little secret, unless it was to call someone else out in a rant. Maybe it's not as disconcerting as the Twitter account that pretends to be a toilet, but toilet talking is not exactly socially acceptable. But is everybody doin' it? I think so.
If you do, you should probably be up front about it, and be talking to someone you can be up front with. Oh, and public restrooms? Maybe avoid those.
Fess up: do you ever use your cell phone in the bathroom? And text messaging counts!

Never in a public bathroom, but sometimes if I'm in a conversation already and I really need to pee I will. But I always cover the mouthpiece when the other person is talking and hold off on the telltale flush until afterwards!
1omg i'm guilty of this! (shameee).. but only in my house and only with my best friend. she's used to it by now haha
2yes.
3i also put the phone down if i have to pee.i could never talk on the phone and let someone here me pee.
4omg I do this all the time with my sister, bf, and cousin. I'm not embarassed and neither are they. it's not that big of a deal to me. I talk, text, and go online on my phone on the toilet. to me, it's the same thing as reading magazines or the newspaper on the toilet.
5haha this is a little akward... =s
6I have a friend who does this ALL THE TIME. It drives me batty.
7I'll only actually make a call while in the bathroom if it's my mom. She usually can't tell anyway. But who doesn't pull their phone out to see a text or e-mail? It's a nice moment of downtime.
8I don't text message or talk on the phone in the toilet. It's sick and rude.
Wnen people do this is in public restrooms [and a LOT of women do], I want to punch them in the throat. It's disgusting for you, me who has to listen to you WHILE you are doing your business, AND the person on the other end who hears what's going on. You can hang up/not answer the phone for like A MINUTE. Seriously. It's not THAT important.
And a good majority of people I've seen do this DON'T wash their hands afterward, then pick up and adjust their phones near their faces. Ick.
9Only at my house - but I text or go on the internet. When you have an illness like UC (google it) you'll understand how hard it can be to not do that.
10Google colitis instead.
11No
12I don't make calls, but I text, read blogs, listen to music, email. It's the new version of reading a book/newspaper.
13Only at home, and I "mute" the phone sometimes.
14i text, but i don't talk
15It is called multi-tasking.
16Yes, but only at home, and the only person I've ever called was my fiance, and we keep the door open when we pee, so it's literally less-invasive than what we do when we're not on the phone. That's love, my friends.
17Sometimes thats the only downtime of the day!
18ALL the time! At work I take my cell phone with me to the bathroom so I can text and make after work plans. If one of my good friends calls while I'm peeing I'll answer and say "I'm in the bathroom right now, whats up?"
19i text all the time
20i text all the time, but it's disgusting to talk to people on the phone.
21i don't think i'd even do it with my best friend.
my mom swears talking to me on the phone makes her have to go so she's always in the bathroom when we talk. i had to repay the favor.
22i do it a lot but i try to keep the conversation short. because people will keep calling. and that's annoying.
i recently heard this girl talking at the next cubicle to her colleagues and she approved the work over the phone and "sent it to the printers" apparently.
23No. I think that's gross. I'll even tell someone that I'll call them back in five minutes.
24No, not the toliet...
25BUT i freaking just dropped my NEW PHONE in my drink when I was hammered...well not even dropped...i jsut put it in the drink and forgot about it
