It's happened: America's favorite Tina Fey character — Sarah Palin, former Republican Vice Presidential nominee — has joined Twitter.
With the handle AKGovSarahPalin, Palin jumped on the social phenomena the other day and has started posting things like Alaska's swine flu status and her staff being misquoted.
Interesting; she always seemed like the more tech-forward of the pair (having been spotted with her PC laptop on vacay) of her and her former running mate, John McCain, but the man who once said he didn't know how to use a computer has been on Twitter for months.

I was going to say I'm surprised she just now joined. I would have thought she would have been on twitter months ago.
1Twitter was on of those deals I swore I'd never bother with, but indeed signed up for to follow America's Governor(c)
So far it's all Alaska-centric, as one would expect. I know in one day, she managed to attract a lot of followers.
I do have to add to your comment about McCain. The reason he doesn't use a computer (and I'm sure the staff does the tweeting) is because of the massive injuries he suffered under torture in Vietnam.
If you notice, he can't raise his arms very high. That's because he was hung by his arms, while they were tied behind his back, permanently dislocating his shoulders.
Tough deal. And makes typing very uncomfortable.
2I'm surprised she just joined, too. I bet she'll have a LOT of followers!
3How appropriate--the twit joins twitter
4Jannis are you saying Twitter users are all 'Twits'? That's what it sounds like to me. And I see you make a stupid comment, using the liberal name-calling technique. There is nothing wrong with Sarah joining Twitter, I'm also surprised she didn't already have an account. I didn't plan on joining Twitter, but I will now just to follow the Great Governor. As Gary said above, America's Governor. I'll look forward to receiving updates on Gov. Palin's accomplishments as a well-seasoned executive with 16 years' experience. I love her courage in the face of all the bull crap thrown in her face, she stands strong as ever!
5Jannis seems a bit livid.
A half hour of Rachel Madcow will put her back in a good mood.
6America's governor? What a joke! LOL Also, get a brain BantheTele!

Cough, sputter, gag - are you kidding me??? I live in the Great State of Alaska and can assure you that contrary to the "approval rating numbers" the Governor is not well liked and not impressive. Try vengeful and retaliatory against those who disagree with her. I have personally seen her in action on the rare occasion when she has graced us with her presence in the REAL capital (that would be Juneau not Wasilla). I did not vote for her because I did not feel that she was qualified enough when she ran for Governor. I definitely did not vote for her as part of the Republican ticket.
A side note - I did not vote for Obama either. I feel that he is also inexperienced and surrounded by YES persons. Other than their political views, I believe that they are actually very similar.
I voted None of the Above and I am totally disgusted by what is happening in our country right now. Both sides are crazy and intolerant. Yuck!
8Urgh, seriously? I hate anon posters! This sounds like the same person arguing with herself to try and get something all hateful started!
9I support Sarah .....Period
