External hard drives are a big enough market these days that you don't have to settle for some lame-o black or silver box. You can have your pretty and back up, too. Check out some of my favorite, most attractive hard drives that do double duty as desk decor.

I love the Iomega one and the Passport ones.
I'm definitely in the market for a new
external HD, since the one I have is who-knows-how-old (my dad gave it to me a year ago when I said I was thinking about buying one), and has to be plugged in to an outlet! So I'd really like
one that runs on USB power alone, and preferably takes up less desk space since I'm living in a college dorm and the desks are pretty small!
1I have the WD Mypassport in red, and i love it.
2What's nice about things like these -- my camera is pink, for example -- is that they're OBVIOUSLY yours. Like, who's going to steal a pink hard drive, you know? The chances of them just coincidentally having that exact model in that exact color is highly improbable, so it's less likely to even get touched, IMO.
