Hola, Summer! We may be a couple months away, but I'm all about putting my arsenal together — you know, new bathing suit, sunglasses, and clearly, this bag.
The MP3 Player Cooler Bag ($79) from Pottery Barn is not the first iPod-playing tote anyone has seen — and certainly not the first from Pottery Barn (last Summer gave us this bag).
It's not even the first MP3 player bag that cools your drinks, though this one is way, way bigger (and thus better, as conventional wisdom tells us).
That said, is a beach bag worth 80 bucks, electronic advantages and all?

It looks a bit clunky and drab. Perhaps if it was more colorful with some kind of contemporary design? Right now, it looks like one of those canvas tote bags you can pick up anywhere :/
1Great idea, though! I'm always going on picnics to the park and bringing a clunky iHome with me, this would be perfect!
2This is way better than lugging out a cooler & an ipod stereo to the beach! I do agree with mango. . . brighter colors would be better.
3Good idea!
4That is so nifty! The look of it is a little blah, I'll give it that...but it's a good idea!
5I have something like this and I've been using it for a couple of years now. Since I am always taking it to the beach, park, bbq, etc. I actually prefer to have something simple that I don't mind getting dirty. In addition my boyfriend doesn't feel like a chick lugging it around. Now that I have been using it for a couple of years now, I don't think I can go back to lugging around a cooler and Bose speakers. It is also great to use as a tote to carry other things besides beverages and snacks.
6more colors and maybe variations of the style. how about a bottle opener zip ring? accessories!
anyway, it's not that bad for 80bucks. would be more ready to pounce if it were a wee bit cheaper.
7I love bags. I love my iPod. This rules.
8What a cute idea!
9What a great idea. cold drinks and music. I love it. Noreen
10Probably this is nice and convenient but do you really need to have noise around you all the time? While I recognise we all love our music, I am not sure I appreciate everyone else's choice - well, in fact, I am sure I don't always appreciate everyone else's choice and I really don't like having it foisted on me. So, sure this is a nice combination of technologies, but count me out!
11A little high in price and who needs all the noise with children they are noise enough belive me music would be nice if it played for us all not just for me
12Great idea !!! I have 2 -13 year old grandsons graduating from grade 8 this year - I think I just found the perfect grad gift for both!!!!!!
13Sadly discontinued
