PC means personal computer, and most people I know do have their own personal computer. In fact, it's a rarity if a household doesn't have at least one computer these days. But personally, having the job that I have, and with my boyfriend also having a geeky job, I couldn't imagine us having to share a household computer. We each need our own machine, and can be found many nights sitting on the couch, laptops in front of each of us.
Among my friends though, we're the exception — the other couples we chill with share a computer, and what's more, seem fine with it (joint gadget purchasers, they are). I haven't heard a complaint out of anyone that one person hogs it more than the other, which would so not be the case if my boyfriend and I had only one computer.
But that's us, and I realize that financial ability and job necessity are what makes things the way they are, and am sure I could make do if our situation was different.
But tell me — do you share your home computer with your significant other, family members, or roommate?

Nope. We have 4 computers, no need to share.
1No way do I share my computer! My household has:
24 people
6 PCs
2 Laptops
And we have a dog =)
Nope, we have 6 computers and only 3 people of computing age. Even our 10 year old has his own MacBook with parental controls and my ability to see his screen at any given time.
3I haven't had to share a computer since I was in... 7th grade? I can't imagine having to do so again. When my brother and I are both at home, we have a total of 4 people, 2 desktops, and 4 laptops. My father and I are both computer geeks, and my brother spends all of his time playing World of Warcraft. My mother is the only one that doesn't spend all day on a computer, haha!
4Since our PC crashed about 2 years ago I used my mom's laptop until I got my own with my graduation money. My brother had a PC upstairs for a while until I got a new laptop and he has my old one now. =]
5Now that I'm in college all my roommates also have their own laptop.
With just the two of us, we've gotten up to four computers at once. Now, it's just two laptops.
Occasionally, we've had to share when one of our computers has a fit... and it's unpleasant. Mostly because we treat computers very differently. He leaves 10+ browser tabs and 3 programs open at a time... I close everything out immediately after I'm done. (He claims he's never "done.")
6I couldn't imagine sharing. It's just husband and I and we have 5 computers. He has a desktop, laptop and work laptop. I have an old PC desktop and macbook. I barely touch any of his computers and he might not even know the password to mine. I think computers are a personal thing with settings and images and links etc. and it would drive me crazy to share.
7I've shared a computer (a desktop) with my dad, my sister, and my brother for years with no problem. Funnily enough, there never seemed to be any overlap whenever we needed to use it... Huh...
So, it wasn't until last year that I splurged and bought myself a laptop ^_^
8i get anxious when i have to share my lappy for 10 minutes!! i can't imagine having to share it permanently!!
9I share SOMETIMES, like my mom has access to my computer when I'm not home, I even have a family profile set up so I don't have to deal with that. For the most part, I don't share. My brother has his own laptop. The only item I really share with him is my printer, so yeah.
10I share my G4 but not my MacBook Pro.
11HECK NO! lol My husband and I are total geeks- My husband being IT and myself working in the graphics field- we won't be able to share. I mean - goodness my 3 year old uses my old old Dell which he uses to watch movies and play computer games. we have 2 desktop, and 5 laptops(we both have laptops from our jobs, then I have a macbook, he has a dell for his personal use and then my old Dell my son uses, as mentioned i before)
12I would DIE if I too share!

I'm practically glued to my laptop, but just last weekend I gave my parents my other laptop, so now my parents and brother will have three computers between them. Pretty much since I've been old enough to use computers, I have commandeered them and renamed them my own, lol.
15Thank goodness my bf and I don't have to share a computer. I'd be a total computer hog.
16my parents, my brother and myself shared a computer for many years and we never had a problem. But last year i started college and i had to buy a laptop to take to class. My parents work on computers all day so they hardly ever use the computer at home, and my brother says hes "to busy living it up to waste time on a computer".
17yup we've been sharing one desktop computer using xp's profile system for many years... its only very recently my Dad and I got laptops, but we still use the desktop for...? I'm not sure, I guess we've just got accustomed to using it...
18When I lived at home, I kinda took over the first computer we got. My mom then bought a better computer for work and my brother was never very interested in computers or gadgets, so I've never really had to share.
Now, my b/f and I have a desktop with two profiles. I don't know if it counts as sharing it though, since neither one of us ever use it. We really only use our laptops. I'm kind of a pack rat though and never throw computers away, so actually have 5 laptops. Most of them more or less work, but I only use my newest one with any consistency.
19I'd never be able to share my iMac because I'm a computer hog - I spend about 90% of my time in front of my laptop or desktop and I need the hard disk space for big documents, tons and tons of music and apps that someone else using up the hard disk would be impossible.
Nearly impossible at the moment...
20We share a computer. We used to have one desktop and one laptop, and we found that we would spend way too much time with our backs to each other not talking at all. Sharing a computer (sometimes fighting over it) actually forces us to spend time away from the computer, actually hanging out together.
21Hubby will sometimes use the desktop that I primarily use but it's pretty rare. He and I have our own laptops, oldest daughter has her own laptop, younger 3 children share a desktop that is in middle daughters room. That is going to change this year as middle daughter will most likely get her own laptop and then the youngest 2 can share the other desktop.
22Nope! My husband and I are both in grad school so when we got married we each had our own laptops. Then over the fall when they both fried we bought 2 desktops. We can't survive with only once PC, we both do too much computer work to share.
23I have more than one home computer, but no. And I would never share my work computer for obvious reasons.
24me and my boyfriend could never share our computers. We both have our own computers, I agree with the person that said a computer is a personal thing. I have a friend who shares one computer with her husband and complains about it all the time
25I used to share my PC but now, I have my notebook so I don'y share any computer
26I hate sharing my computer! I never have to at home because we all have our own computers, but occasionally my mother might want to borrow my macbook and I really get on edge when she does—even though I have nothing to hide on it!
When I'm at school, I don't let anyone borrow it. For some reason at my university, everyone thinks that if someone has a laptop that it's OK to ask to borrow it to check e-mail and they'll willingly hand it over. I don't, and people always act surprised when I say no
27Me and my boyfriend have our own laptops, and he has a desktop. I am thinking about getting a new laptop...we would never ever share, that would be horrible!! Having to ask, and wait...ugh. nope.
28Are you ready?
I have two laptops (Mac), a work laptop (Dell) and an old iMac, my brother has a laptop (Dell) and an old iMac, my mother has a work laptop (Dell) and desktop (G5 Mac), my stepdad has a work laptop (Dell) and iMac. And we have an iMac, and old Macs that are out of comission.
We shared while I was in middle school but once I got my iPod in highschool I got my own iMac (it needed a firewire port).
Now I live alone and can't imagine sharing. And am a tech geek.
29My hubby and I game together so we both need our own machine besides we each had our machines before we moved in together so it was only natural for us to keep using separate machines lol
30No way! We share the windows box but it is HIS machine not mine. =) We each have our own white MacBooks.
31I guess I'm sort of spoiled. Everyone in my house has at least one computer to themselves.
32we used to share the computer at home, later i have mine at the age 15 years old, so i used to use my own computer, later my laptop die... so i have to used the computer in the house i moving for college, now i have my own mac book... but i started college i have to share with my brother because we live in the same apartment, but now he was his own computer.
33he is a PC and a Mac
