With so many social-networking services, photo-sharing sites, and social-media tools, sharing is certainly caring on the Internets. If you want to aggregate all of your online "stuff" into one master zone, Google has just launched Google Profile where you can do just that.
On your Google Profile page you can have links to your Twitter account, Flickr page, Facebook profile and more, and one of my favorite features — you can enable the "send a message" feature so anyone with a Google account can email you (without revealing your email addy).
You can also enable your profile so the general public can search for you by your name. Just make sure to set your profile to show your name publicly. Overall seems like a great networking tool and a handy way to share some of your online content!

I love Google but I do think that this is a little bit too much information about oneself in one place. Google Health creeps me out too.
1Wow. Talk about way, way, way, way, way old news. I've had mine for about a year now. Seriously...
2Meike: "Google is publicizing their Google Profiles for the first time this week. " So it is making the news rounds.
3I just want it as an organizing tool, not a social thing.

5I don't like the idea of sharing more info about myself online, but I have found a very good use of it. I use Google Reader and, since I'm planning a wedding, I'm subscribed to a lot of wedding blogs. Since my mom lives across the country from me, this is an easy way for me to share things I like with her. I just created separate tags in Google Reader for different wedding categories and save posts I like to it... and then the tags are linked off my Google Profile that my mom (who isn't technically inclined) has simply book marked. Much easier than sending her emails with a million links to different sites everyday.
6Yay for using Felicia Day's profile! I love that girl!!
I think the Google Profile thing looks pretty useful, and it sounds like there are some good privacy settings if you don't want to share all your info with everyone.
I'll have to go set mine up...
