So with the majority of you on board with the whole Netbook craze, let me just throw a little wrench in your wish list and savings plan — it's called the Nettop. Although most people are smitten with the tiny portable computers, some are not so infatuated with the small keyboard, screen, and storage availability to match. Nettops, which made a big impact at the CES conference in Las Vegas this year, are smaller than your average desktop (with screens ranging from 15-19 inches), and come in an all-in-one bundle, which is easy on the eyes and great for maximizing space.

Both netbooks and nettops run Windows or Linux, and come with a smaller price tag than their full-grown counterparts — the eee Top shown above sells for around $550 and comes with a touchscreen. So knowing that the mini computer market will now grow from a laptop-dominated world to include mini desktops (seven million units are expected to sell by next year), which would you rather buy?

I'll stick with my 17" MacBook Pro.
1I like the netbook because it is so convenient and you can easily carry it in your purse and around the house. I prefer a large desktop with a large screen for my desk.
2I would pick the Nettop...in fact, I was looking at the Eee but not really into the whole touch thing yet. But I like the bundles idea. that what i love about the iMacs.. less pieces
My mom has a netbook and its WAAYYY too small for me in every way.

4Wow, don't know what happened there!
But as I was saying:
I love my Macbook.
But comparing these two doesn't make any sense - a Nettop is just a slightly smaller iMac. Really! As such, I don't need an iMac/small desktop - most people like laptops over desktops because of the mobility. Netbooks and smartphones are going to be where it's at.
5I'm a geek and I need more information!
6Heh... I'll be sticking with my Macs 'cause Mac is where its at.
7I've got my iphon, netbook, a desktop and a 15 inch laptop. I'm completely covered.
8At home I need my full sized desktop with my 22" monitor, but for on the go computing, you just can't beat the convenience of a laptop. My gf has a full sized laptop and the thing barely goes anywhere with us because it's just too clunky! An 8" netbook can fit in nearly any bag and even some cargo pockets.
