It may seem like overkill, but I have more than a few ways to access Twitter: signing in to Twitter online, using my iPhone, as well as signing in on my BlackBerry. But still, I'm always on the lookout for a faster and easier way to tweet. Sometimes, your tweet just can't wait. For this reason, I'm now a big fan of Twitterbar.

As an extension to your Firefox browser, Twitterbar couldn't be easier to use: just type your tweet into your address bar, then hit the Twitter icon to post to your account. Downloading is free, but you will have to allow the third-party app to access your Twitter account. So next time you're surfing around at your desk and an earthquake hits, you'll be the first to post about it. Besides, being first is a geek's ultimate goal anyway, isn't it?

The other night someone pointed out that I used three different applications to send out tweets within a half hour. I'm so in twitter overload.
1Another great Firefox Twitter add-on is TwitterFox. You never have to go to the actual Twitter site and it provides messages, replies and updates all in the corner of your screen.
