I want my 1st iPhone sooo bad!

I've decided to take the plunge and get an iPhone. I'm torn whether or not to wait for 3.0 though. I always carry my camera, so I don't need video capability or an improved camera. I'd rather have faster operating speeds.

How about a break from AT&T, lower monthly price plans, and the end of a 2 year required contract?

I know - asking too much from them - AGAIN.

I do want an iPhone, I just can NEVER justify the price. NEVER.

I'd like to know when 3.0 is coming out. Summer is three months long, dates please so I can set a countdown ticker!!

I'm still very, very happy with my 1st gen.

I'm most excited about the software update that will let the keyboard be landscape in most apps and the search function. I use spotlight constantly on my computer, and I hate when I'm out and I know I have info I need somewhere in my email but I can't search for it.

Well I want the keyboard to be landscape in Mail. I didn't realize they were adding spotlight too, that's sweet!

So I guess since I'm getting what I'm asking for already, I'll go with "please let me send picture text messages to my family."

EvilDork Girl, that's also already happening! No offense, but this is kind of a misleading post. Apple has already announced most of the features that will be in the software update. I think this poll is intended to be more about what will be new and only available on the 3rd gen, hardware updates.

The beauty of the iPhone is that most updates (copy and paste, search, etc) come in the form of a software update, so they will work on any generation.

I don't want an iPhone... i despise touch screens.. I'm semi-OCD and would clean it every 5 seconds, and if i had a cover on it, if take off the cover and clean it... its gross... I like my normal slide phone.. i don't like QWERTYs either, so no G1 either... oh well

I want application working on the background like in the Palm Pre

I just got my iPhone a week ago, so I won't be upgrading this time around, but I am excited for 3.0!

le romantique, I know what you mean. I'm constantly wiping the screen of my iPhone with a glasses cloth, and I take the case off to charge it in the dock so I wipe the back, too.

I chose all of the above! lol I'm excited for the new iPhone to come out, I've never had one so maybe this will be my first! I'm excited about the MMS messaging too! We'll see.....

Whoa rad! I knew that landscape on the keyboard & copy/paste were coming, but I didn't know about MMSes. Yay!

The lack of the ability to run simple things in the background is a killer.

I want the new iPhone to be available on another carrier besides AT&T!

I would love video and larger capacity. Other than a speed improvement I don't know how much more they can improve upon it as almost all the features people want are coming in the software update. I seriously can't wait for the 3.0 update. I've played with it and it is AWESOME!!

2nd lower plans. Maybe a return the the metal finish instead of plastic?

i have a 1st gen so I think I'll be upgrading when the new one comes (better start saving now!), but of those, auto focus would be nice so would a flash
