At the ripe young age of 21, one would think that Hollywood hottie Zac Efron would be tweeting, posting status updates on Facebook and blogging on MySpace. . . just like a lot of other people his age. Not so much. Zac recently told People that he stays away from social networking sites because of privacy reasons. He said:

I don't have a Twitter, a MySpace, or a Facebook or anything like that. I kind of value in people not knowing where I am or what I'm doing.
He then goes on to poke fun at minute by minute status updates . . . which we all know can take on a life of their own.
I find it funny that he'll easily say TMI but won't Twitter TMI.

fair enough, considering as a celebrity they have little privacy to begin with...he doesnt need facebook to share pictures or inform people he's going to palm springs for the weekend like the rest of us normal people do....he's in the news anyway!
1I say good for him
Like skigurl said, he's in the news already!
2Good for him.
And I agree.
3Eh. Social networking sites are what you make of them. Just like any other medium, you get to choose what you share.
4He's someone who became famous at a relatively young age, and who has seen what's happened when pictures that were thought to be private ended up on the WWW, so it seems like a relatively mature outlook.
For those of us who aren't followed by the papparazzi - the social networking sites can be good for keeping in touch with friends, esp. large groups and not just one and one.
5Well, good for him.
6i think it's good so that he won't even be more overexposed that he already is.. plus some of the things he says might turn people off him more
he's fine as he is
7thank you for sharing
