I know I've mentioned using items like plastic bags and towels to protect my laptop (if I ever find myself sleeveless), but I try to keep things fairly fashionable. Now these laptop sweaters, which I spotted on If It's Hip, It's Here, are in a league of their own. Created by Davey Sommers, I could see them being a great laptop protector for college students — especially in the wintertime — but I can't say my laptop will be sporting one anytime soon.
They are only $20, so they won't break the bank, and are made from recycled old sweaters. One size is said to fit all (they will fit a 13-inch MacBook, but can stretch to fit a 17-inch MacBook Pro as well), so maybe not a terrible investment after all . . . but then again, maybe Grandma could whip you up one as well. What do you think? Geek or chic?

Hugo Boss
Marciano
Alberta Ferretti
I wouldn't use this since the one I have is just fine, but I like the one on the top right! Even for a regular sweater
1yeah I totally wouldn't use this, it looks too geeky for me - maybe if it had handles/straps?
2I really don't like these, but I think it I would use a laptop sleeve made out of a chunky sweater weave.
Just not these.
3Geeky and I love it!
That's cute/hilarious!
4I don't know... they look too frumpy to me.
5BARF....
It looks like someone just cut their ugly sweater and made a laptop sleeve. Needs a little more imagination.
6Not for me!
7Uck!
8It could work, but I don't know... What if you think it's actually a sweater and you put it in your sweater drawer and then when you're looking for your laptop and you can't find it so you freak out but then you remember the infamous sweater laptop sleeve and you course yourself for your silliness.
9that's just wrong
10seems kind of an accident waiting to happen...
giant open hole laptop fits through + slippery material + no padding = crying.
Plus they are ugly.
11I honestly think they're kinda ugly, but I do like that they're recycled and inexpensive. I doubt I'd use one myself.
12The idea has merit, but I'd worry about the materials used. Wool tends to be prone to static electricity, and static + electronic equipment = Big No-No.
13they look like old people's sweaters!
