We've all had more than our fair share of edible geek items in recent months, or at the very least ogled them, so I figured it was high time we settle this debate once and for all. From Rubik's Cube cakes, TiVo cakes, Helio Ocean cakes and even meticulously planned Super Mario and Zelda bride and groom cakes - there isn't a slice we haven't seen. Or at least so I thought, until I happened upon the Max Webo cake. Webo was a breaking point for me because it was so geeky I didn't remember know who it was. Yes, that's right I didn't know that Webo performed for Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi. So what do you think: Has this edible geek phase gone too far or is it only the beginning?

Hahahaha, I knew who it was right away. Now I'm gonna have Star Wars music stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
Any cake made with that much love is geek chic all the way!
I really like that star ways one but the Super Mario one was a bit much. For me it depends.
Isn't that guy from sesame street?
wow i wish i could make cakes like that
I thinks it's cute
Cake is something that is supposed to be fun, so I don't think you can get too geeky with it!
oh he's so cute. i'd like a geeky cake like that. I love the other geeky cakes i've seen like the disc world wedding cake and the super mario one.
Oh my gosh...I just love this little guy...I loved the great music from Star Wars!
creative and yummy.
any kind of cake is love.
this is so excellent, I cant stand it! Was this from Mos Eisley or the sail barge. I dont remember. Im thinking of using Padme and Anakin cake toppers for our wedding in October...
Wow, you make me feel super geeky for immediately identifying Max Webo! But I have to admit, dating a Star Wars fan in high school rubbed off on me. I don't actually know if this is information I would've sought out on my own, haha.
I still love him, and the whole band for that matter!
Are you kidding? It's just a cake. It's fun and cool looking and people have been making geeky cakes for years. I think it's fun, though seeing so many of them gets dull after a while.
Its kinda cute =D
I recognized him, but I couldn't give you his name! I think it's a really cute trend, particularly the ones that go back to our childhood days!
It's totally geeky, but it's awesome!
I think its great, I got so excited the first time I saw the super mario cake. I was just a bit giddy. I'm 24, and I still like getting cartoon cakes for my birthday..heck my birthday was yesterday, and I had pirate cupcakes. They we're a bit hit at the party. So I see nothing wrong with having a video game themed wedding cake. Heck..I'd have a Hello Kitty cake if I could get away with it. I say rock on to couples who want to show their personalities at their weddings...even if it is really "geeky".
