idealist.org is great if you're looking for work in the non-profit or saving the world sector

I love Yahoo! HotJobs. It's easy to use and I work for a company that found on me there.

How is http://wwww.jobing.com not on this list? It's the best place to find a job.

Just a note of caution with a sprinkle of advice

First, “Geek IS chic” and this Chic Geek's post is ABSOLUTELY correct: You CAN “do (you job search) from the comfort of your PJ's and wrapped in the loving arms of your couch”, nonetheless, Proceed with Caution and a little moderation won’t hurt either.

The Internet search using Job Boards et al is only ONE avenue in the blueprint (planning) of getting quality interviews and a new opportunity. A key to most successful job searches has often been simultaneously utilizing ALL your job search avenues - "marketing channels"; and too, being prepared to do what you may not want to do, i.e. cold calling and networking which means getting off the computer. In fact, I believe you have to be prepared to network 70% of the time to really be effective in your job search (that can be social networking too with portals like LinkedIn or on the sidelines of you daughter's Lacrosse game).

Beware of the Internet Job Search being too convenient - it can get very comfortable...TOO COMFORTABLE... and the next thing you know you may become complacent in your “busy work”, comfortably at home, working away at your computer, and weeks or even months may float by.

You didn't mention SimplyHired. I didn't know about Hound...I'm going to check that out.

Hound IS the hidden gem among online job boards, since they aggregate jobs posted on employers' actual websites, not pay-to-post sites like Monster and Yahoo.

You guys may also want to look into http://www.voolkan.com which is free and really easy to browse around. Most interesting, though, are some kind of career-matching features they offer. I think you need to apply to a certain number of jobs before it will start working for you, so I've got to send out a few more applications before it kicks in I guess--but it sounds like it could be cool.

I highly recommend Hound. Visit www.hound.com. They have unbelievable number of job listing even in this recession era. The reason is that they get unadvertised item from employers on their website. This site also give you updated market position and tips and advices on finding the suitable jobs for you. be you a fresh graduate from college or highly skilled professional with no. of years of experience, you all will find jobs fitting to your skillsets. try it.

The only problem with hound is that continually bill you until you quit. You cannot get just a short term membership. Even though they are a web based product you cannot email them with a cancellation you must call them on the phone and they are rude! So beware if you sign up make sure you cancel when you no longer want them or you will continue to be billed.
