Even though I think they're useful, I haven't considered owning a backpack, particularly a laptop backpack, since I was in high school. I may have to rethink that stance. Incase's new Nylon Backpack ($100), which fits all MacBooks, is — though quite utilitarian — surprisingly droolworthy.
Maybe it's the color; cyan is my obvious fave (it also comes in burgundy, olive, black, red, and gray) — but what I'm really attracted to is all the organized pockets for all my peripherals and accessories. Does this change your mind about laptop backpacks too?

I saw the black version in person and if I had the money I'd buy one without another thought. It's sleek and minimal and has lots of nice pockets.
1This is pretty ugly. I looooove backpacks though. I am still using my Jansport that I bought in 10th grade.
2Sorry geek, those are kinda ugly in person (although they look good in the pictures).
I'm more partial to this bag: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=399512#
The boyfriend has it in black and red, and loves it.
3Backpacks might be more comfortable, but they make me feel like a middle schooler. I'll stick with totes or messengers. Let me know if you find a nice vertical cross body bag
4I think it's really cute. It's really utilitarian and pretty cute for a backpack!
