The Rasterbator is a brilliant application that creates huge, rasterized images from any picture. All you have to do is upload an image, print the resulting multi-page pdf file and assemble the pages into a beautiful (or disturbing - it all depends on your original image choice) poster that can be up to 20 meters in size. Yes, that's right, you can now create that enormous John Mayer art piece you always wanted.
It's relatively easy to use. You can either upload a file from your computer or use any file that is publicly available on the Internet. You will need a modern browser (Mozilla or Firefox are recommended) with Macromedia Flash Player 7 and you will need Adobe Reader (or other pdf viewer) in order to print the image. After you have cropped the image and selected a desired size, the rasterbated image will be sent to you as an easily printable pdf file. Visit the Rasterbator website for tips, galleries of amazing images and more about the application.

I did a small one of these and it turned out really cool, once I get my own office space I'm going to do an entire wall in one!
1Oh awesome!!!
2Oh fun! Can't wait to play with this program!
3Wow, that's so nifty!
4That is an interesting idea!!
5Thanks for posting this - it's so darn cool!
6wow this is cool. i can't wait to print something for my wall.
7Rasterbator? ROFLMAO Let's just say this thing isn't what I thought it was.
8My fiance and I did this last summer, it took like five hours to lay it out on the floor, then we had to number it because he was putting it up at work...he did the Boondock Saints with their guns pointed at his chair. You have to make sure you do the smallest DOT size possible
9played with this and had a blast!
10I Tried this out before and it was really cool!!!
11heh. i love the scrubs picture on the door. I find some of the images really cheesy, but its an interesting concept and i could see myself using it with more "art" pictures and less people pictures (might frighten me first thing in the morning!)
12Great name.
13I did this with a picture of my guy and me, and decorated his bare dorm room wall as a surprise. They come out so awesome! I printed mine on cardstock so that I could just use one pushpin for each.
14I have ideas for next fall though. I'd love to get some jump-rings used for jewelry making and attach them all like that at the sides.
LOL - its sounds kinda dirty.
15Looks like a great app - can't wait to try it.
A life size Johnny Depp is just what I need.
Ahahahahaha! I love the name!
16I'm doing something like this in my next place. I love gigantic posters.
17What a great tool! I can't wait to try it out.
18this would have been useful at the beginning of the school year (I lived in a suite, with three singles and a common room, aka lots of wall space). But since I have a HUGE single next year, this will still be useful!
19I LOVE THIS! I did one of a bunch of Cherry Blossom trees for my Japanese-themed living room, and it looks gorgeous. Takes a while, but totally worth it! Thanks!!
20Is there a mirror of this site, because I need this to work, and I cant get the website or the download to go through. They all are timing out.

26It's so cool! I actually tried it, but it's long to cut the picture and put it on the wall...The picture comes out weird but kinda cool...Takes a lot of ink but I guess it's worth it! (hint: Big Tom Welling Poster
)
