Facebook's new face-lift has taken full effect (everyone should see the changes by the end of the day), and I have to say I like it, but not without reservations.
Separating the different updates is fabulous; I like that new photos, albums, and videos are in the margin, while the main feed is status updates. However, the look is so Twittery (the real-time concept, way it looks when you reply to someone) that it doesn't feel like Facebook as much.
I like that Twitter and Facebook serve different purposes (and more importantly, different audiences), and I'm not looking to have one replace the other — which it feels like Facebook is trying to get you to do (especially with the new policy allowing you to publish to unlimited readers) with the new look.
I'm curious to know how you guys feel about it though; certainly, it's cleaner and more organized. And I'm quite curious to know how non-Twitter users feel about it, too, since the interface concepts must be new to you.
Take a vote and let me know why you do or do not like it in the comments!

I just can't get used to it, and I don't like the fact it feels so much like Twitter. It's perfectly okay to have different mediums that have their own unique feel - it's one of the things I liked about Twitter, and Facebook. I'm just very lost on Facebook now, and not sure how to get in the "new" swing of things.
1Loving it
!
2some points...The real time stream....HUGE emphasis on sharing links and other media with friends is key.....ability to filter news feed by friend list is much better!
It will take some time to get used to just like the other update, but it is a much needed update for facebook.
Take it or leave it. I don't know why they have to go about changing it every few minutes. It doesn't matter to me.
3I signed up for FB ages ago but didn't start using until their previous site overhaul that everyone hated. I could understand why they hated it as it didn't seem very user intuitive. While this redo is nice I think there is an ease of use factor that it is missing for sure.
4Take it or leave it. People always get worked up about the changes, which by the way, keep happening (and probably will continue to) like every 6 months... get use to it.
5I don't like it. It's a hot mess! I don't know why they changed it so soon when people were just starting to like the other new look. It's just messy.
6i feel like i was *JUST* getting the hang of the old facebook
I really don't like this.
7Eh. It's ok. I liked it the other way, but I won't be up in arms over the change.
8I really like it
9I dislike change, and I'm with diornotwar...I was just getting used to the other one.
10I like it. It's a lot more streamlined and common sense. It's easier to see everything at a glance and way more organized. I like that it publishes more information too... very cool. I use twitter too, and there are some similiarities, but I think most people use both and will continue to do so.
11sorry, most people *who* use both will continue to do so... i didn't read it before I posted.
12I hate this layout even more than I hated the previous. I can't find anything
13I like it as it's much cleaner!
14It will take some getting used to but I am sure it will work for me once I get used to it.
15I've never even been to the twitter site, and I won't.. The new facebook is so frantic, disorganized, and just too much to look at.
16No, it's God-awful confusing and redundant. I looked at the preview and hoped maybe it wasn't going to be so bad...but nope. It is.
I can't tell when somebody has written on my wall versus updated on my newsfeed, they all look the same! and having the event sidebar where there's like 50 "1 person has joined X Dumb Group" notifications...if I want to join the group, they will invite me or I'LL FIND IT!
Argh, it's just...a clusterf*ck of programming. Somebody described it that way, I think they're pretty accurate.
17I don't like it...But then again i never liked any of the past changes..I prefer the original and simple facebook.
18I'm tired of the home page being the only seeming improvement they bother to do anything with. I'm not a fan of the new page.
19I think it's an improvement.
I've been making far more use of the filters I've created for my friends list now that I can use them to filter what I see on my home page.
I'm mildly amused that it always seems to be the same friends whining about this change as the last one. I think some people resist change for its own sake. One day they're going to have to buck up and accept that's the way things roll ... especially in anything to do with computers.
20I like it because it looks cleaner.
21I mean I'm used to FB changing....I can remember way back in 2004, and FB is a shell of what it was then...so I just roll with it! This is def. not as hard to get used to as the last overhaul. Which, I am now very used to.
Glamsugar I actually think it looks messier!!! With that huge font! Haha
22Don't like it, but then again I just haven't been a big fan of facebook at all, ever. I prefer myspace.
23It's going to take me some time to get used to it. So far, I'm not digging it. It's much more confusing and difficult to use.
24wtf is the point of twitter? I looked at it and did not at all see the point of it...do people REALLY care that much about what other people do all day?
25I completely agree with comment #20. People are such WHINERS when it comes to any type of change, despite if its actually a good change or not.
And yes, the point of Twitter is knowing what people do all day. Thats what Twitter is. some people get it, some people don't. lol
26i hate it! i was JUST starting to get used to the new layout and they change it again! it looks so messy
i used to love FB and now i barely sign on to it anymore..
27If I wanted my Facebook to be like Twitter I'd just use Twitter. I still like the original Facebbook layout the best. I would be very happy if they gave us the option to choose our own layout.
I hate the new layout, but if I want to use Facebook I'll have to suck it up and get used to it. Doesn't mean I have to like it though...
28The thing that aggravates me is now you get the million and one notices of who did what to who or who sent an egg to who -- I had 5 notifications of the same person doing the same thing to 5 different people. THAT is annoying.
29i liked the one before it
30teamsugar users know about changes. Either take it or leave it, its not the end of the world.
31The new layout sucks. I don't care about streaming, real time blah blah whatever. I have Twitter AND Tumblr anyway. Facebook took away the Users' ability to control how our walls look and all sorts of other controls. Facebook sucks as far as I'm concerned.
32BTW, I'm a graphic artist and I think the larger fonts for wall-to-wall messages are ugly and dumb. Why would I want people to read my wall-to-walls w/ other people? I'd rather have my status posts stand out like before.
33I liked the old layout okay, but I HATE this one. I can't find anything, where are my bookmarks? I wish they would just change it back!
34it's funny how when they couldn't BUY twitter, they decided to make theirs look similar, so that more people would use facebook and eventually push twitter out...
yeah, not happening.
35I don't like it. I don't need to see what everyone wrote on someone else's wall. I don't like the groups info on the side. I like seeing when a friend has a new friend and that isn't coming across the feed anymore. I also don't like how friends profile pages doesn't show times anymore for certain activities.
36i hate it. but i hate twitter too, so i'm not sure i'm the best judge.
37I don't like it. I agree it is too much like twitter and I feel like I've been forced into using a twitter like programme when I am not that keen on twitter itself. I liked facebook for its own features and if I wanted to do twitter, I'd have started an account there.
38I was fairly new to Facebook, so it didn't bother me at all to change. I use Twitter, so perhaps because they seem so similar, I like the new look.
39No, I freaking hate it.
40at first i thought i would be okay with it, but now i just can't seem to get use to it. so no i don't like the new facebook!!
41a lot of people on my friends list hate it, but i actually like it! I didnt like the previous layout very much. I kind of like how everything is in the center now. i kinda wish there was something else on the left side besides the list options, seems bare when i dont have things panned out. but otherwise I am digging the new look.
42AAARRRGGG!!! I can't stand it! I really like Facebook but the whole status thing is the part that I am the least interested in and this new change makes that the center focus. What about updates on groups and event? I don't even see that anymore.
43I just started to appreciate the old layout. This new one is confusing! I think I'll get the hang of it eventually, especially using the friends lists to filter for people I want to see, but I think it's seriously annoying that they made such a major overhaul so quickly.
44first time i'm complaining about facebook layout changes. i don't need facebook to be twitter. i don't even have my accounts linked!
45I think the new layout is chaos at best and the privacy is an absolute a mess and too much info all at once. Yarrrr!

In regards of kh61582 comments: the homepage has real time groups and events feeds if u set it up in your updates settings for groups or pages. Try that.
