The $25 Dave laptop table from Ikea still holds a special place in my heart — as well as a special place in both my bedroom and living room (tee-hee). But look out Mr. Dave, there's a sexier laptop stand in town and he's popping up at Target stores across the country. Unlike the Dave laptop table, the Ergonomic laptop desk from Target is made of metal in a laminate walnut finish, which you'll pay for with the table costing $50. The wood version would definitely look a lot nicer in my living room, but for now, I just can't justify the upgrade.

1I will never cheat on my Dave!
2If Dave is working perfectly well now, and you don't mind moving it from the living room to the bedroom, then there *isn't* any justification for getting the Target stand, either.
However, if Dave is weak or breaking, the Target one looks much sturdier and like it's made of heavier, more durable parts - so it might last longer and be worth the cost. Or, if you just want to carry the laptop from place to place without having to move a stand around, the Target one might be worth buying.
Or you could wait until the Target stand goes on sale. I'll bet it'll get down to $25 - the same price as the Ikea stand! - at some point in the near future!

8You know, I passed over this post earlier, but looking at it again I should actually get one of these. We moved recently and my room in the new apartment doesn't have room for an actual desk, but one of these would work perfectly... Hmm!

11I love Dave. I have been faithful for over a year.
12We have two Daves and I have bought one as a gift. I think they are wonderful. They are our everything tables - dinner, drinks, laptops, crafts.
13I'm actually sad to say I like the Dave better too. I've been wanting one for sometime and it's OUT OF STOCK at my not so locals IKEA store and you can't order it online. Also, it's not $17.99. I don't like the color of the Target one at all. The "Dave" now comes in "Red" which is the one I want.
Any other suggestions?
