Solving your problems is Chax, a free Mac download that rights all those wrongs. After downloading it, check your preferences and you'll see a whole new list to enable or disable to your liking, like the two instances I mentioned above.

This is AWESOME! There is nothing more annoying than coming back to my computer and finding that someone was trying to transfer a file to me and I missed accepting it and then they are offline. I LOVE this! Thanks Geek

2iChat seems so...antiquated I guess. Why wouldn't you just use the gmail client?
