This happens to me all of the time. I'll be using Firefox to surf the net, open way too many tabs, close a few to open more and realize that I need to go back to a website. Well luckily there are a couple of tricks to help you get your tabs back.
All you have to do is hit 'Command+Shift+T' for a Mac or 'Shift+Ctrl+T' for a PC and your last tab will appear. If you don't like keyboard shortcuts, just go to history and recently closed tabs and voila- you will see all your recently closed tabs!

This is helpful, thanks. I hate having to open a new browser window.
1That is amazingly helpful. I'm always accidentally closing tabs I didn't mean to close.
2The newest version of Firefox has this function in it. Just right-click on a tab and choose "Undo Close Tab". I think there's even a quicker shortcut key.
Firefox has a lot of really nice functions, and is better and (IMO) easier than Explorer. To get the latest version, go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/.
3Thanks, Geek!!
4That doesn't work for me for some reason. =( Thanks anyway.
5YES! I needed that tip!
6Thank you! I love key commands and this one will be quite useful!
7Another reason Firefox beats all other browsers.
8Sweet. I'm always closing a tab and then realizing that I meant to close a different one!
9Glad this tip was helpful !
10Install the "Session Manager" extension and you'll never lose a tab again.
11I can't tell you how many times I have done this. Thanks for the tip.
12there's an add-on that let's you hit ctrl+z to "undo".
of course this action comes integrated with opera
13I'm missing my Tab Mix plus addon in FF3.5. With that I just right clicked and it gave me a list of closed tabs and I picked the one I wanted to reopen.
