Oh, vintage lovelies; how wonderful to have Etsy to bring to us rad retro things like this Vintage Rotary Phone Planter ($26). I kinda miss rotary phones — having to wind your finger all the way around for each number, being pulled in close to the base by a windy cord. . . wait, no I don't.

I miss the principle (and maybe the time of when phone calls meant a lot more), but not having to actually use rotary phones. In these times, well, they're as useful as a potted plant. Which, actually, makes this planter make sense.
What do you think of it?

I don't really like it.
1I like the concept, and think it would work better if it didn't look so old and dirty, and didn't have the random leaves on the front. It does kinda make me want to gut the old phone I have sitting in my closet...
2I love it! It's tarnished, but it would look so adorable on a deck!
3it looks gross, right? like you might get dirty using it?
4...very strange. I don't really get the connection between phone & plant.
5it's so cuuuute!
6i'd put it on my desk (which is near my bed) so i could lay on my back and gossip with my friends and twirl the cable around my finger
I think it's something that could work with some themes for home decor, but it's definitely not my style.
7So... I think its pretty lame as a planter. Either update a truly awesome vintage phone with new wiring like this adorable orange one--> http://threepotatofourshop.com/fully-reconditioned-telephone-1960s-orang... Or go for the vintage inspired new phone like this one from pottery barn --> http://www.potterybarn.com/products/p5812/index.cfm?pkey=xsrd0m1|20|||1|||||||grand%20cordless%20phone&cm_src=SCH&flash=on
8oooo ooooo cute!
9cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute
