Everyone sits a little differently when they're playing video games — different, at least, from how they sit while watching TV. Is it any surprise then, that someone would make a seat for video game play?
This is Ikea's new Jesper Bench ($70), which is a brilliant idea (much better than those decor-unfriendly and juvenile low seats from the '90s), but when you see someone on it, using it for how it's supposed to be used. . . well, you see the problem.
I don't know that I'd want to look like I was riding a racehorse while playing Tony Hawk. The simple looks of it are great, the intent wonderful, but the result. . . I just do not know.
What do you think? Would you ride, I mean, sit on this while playing video games?

It's weird, but innovative.
Unfortunately, I've got an ample tush, so I'm pretty sure I won't be as comfortable as the kid in the picture is on it. So I wouldn't buy it.
1Leave it...I do just fine playing videogames in my soft, cozy living room chair.
2I think it's a good idea in theory. I was at Ikea yesterday and I tried it out. It's really meant for children or small small adults. The front part where you are meant to rest your elbows is too narrow. It would be tiring on your shoulders after awhile.
3I wouldn't buy it, but it seems like it would help with the "Wii Wrist" pain I often get from trying to hold the remote out and level.
4i think i'd have to try it to make a real assertion.
5Oooh. I agree; it's a good idea in theory but it needs some tweaking. If it were just a weee bit bigger and wider I'd totally love it. That way you could turn the other way and rest your back on it, too.

My goto gaming chair for the last few years has been the Sumo Omni from the same website. Unfortunately the beans are pretty flat and it's in need of a refill.

I don't play video games so I don't know if this is a good idea or not. Not sure if my children would be comfy in it..
