Lots of big exciting news happening in the BlackBerry world right now. Not only is the public beta for the SlingPlayer Mobile officially available for BlackBerry users, but RIM is now taking submissions for app developers.
The App store is rumored to be launching this Spring, so developers will need to get busy whipping up some amazing and handy applications!

It'll be interesting to see how they compare to the iPhone apps store. My hunch is that they won't do nearly as well. Apple seems to do a really good job these days predicting the market and being the first to come out with ideas like this, and when you get a year or more headstart, it's pretty hard for competition to catch up.
