One of my favorite activities in the Summer is heading-out to catch a baseball game! Although I may not know the ins and outs of the game, I go for the fun of it (and for a hot dog or two). But now, fans have even more reasons to head to the ball park this season: Sony recently announced that they have sealed a deal with the Yankees to pimp out their stadium with over 550 Bravia flat panel TVs, along with tons of Playstation 3s and Vaio computers to play with in select locations around the stadium.

I totally get the purpose of the TVs — cause I've often wished there was a way to watch the game while in line at the snack bar — but PS3s and Vaios? I'm not sure I understand the relevance of these at a sports stadium. MLB Playoffs before the game perhaps?

I think it's weird.
1Every stadium I've been in has had tv's in the walking areas so you can stand out there to smoke or buy pretzels and see the game.
It'll be awesome to see the Bravia tv's though! I think it is very cool.
2So...is this why the cost of the stadium as now doubled? o_O
3I think it's a bit much with the PS3, but lots of new stadiums now are getting flat (and HD) screen TVs, and scoreboards. It makes it waaayy better as you can imagine.
leave it to the Yankees to sell out on yet another level..
4I understand the TVs. Like some one else said, while standing in line for a drink or whatever, you can still see whats going on in the game. But video games? That just makes no sense to me.
5People already have severe A.D.D. This just shows that it is believed we need to be stimulated constantly.
