Chills ran down my spine when I read that Kelly Rutherford (a.k.a. Gossip Girl's Lily Van Der Woodsen) allegedly threw a laptop at her estranged husband (was the laptop he OK?).
This reminds me of the story of the guy who got away from his mugger by bashing his head with an iPod Mini.
I wonder about the possible damage inflicted to said gadgets (try explaining that to the warranty people), as well as, obviously, how much harm they could do to people. Laptops may be getting smaller, but all that aluminum packs a punch.
I've got pepper spray in my handbag just in case, but I won't lie; I've thought about how much smashing someone on the noggin with my iPhone would hurt. Let's call it last-resort self-defense. What do you think of this phenomena?

The iPod mini was quite the rugged little beast. I bet you could do some serious damage with it. I don't think a shuffle or nano could inflict much damage. Nor would I turn to my iPhone. Maybe if I take to late night jogging I will lug along the iPod classic or dig out my pink mini from the closet
1I just had a scary thought. What if they were banned from airport carry on because of their capacity to be a weapon? I couldn't imagine traveling without my ipod or macbook.
2That's a good point Jessie. But if I was being attacked, I'd use whatever I had handy. Even if it was my laptop.
3Anything can be utilized as a weapon, take a spatula for example. They can be mean! lol
